Wednesday's Design by Robbie

I am amazed at all the beautiful cards you can see on the internet now. Just think 5 years ago when most of us were just getting started the only way we saw cards were from ones we created or ones our friends sent to us. I am so glad that technology has progress so far.

I saw a card on page 65 of the Dec/Jan Papercrafts magazine that I like and thought it would be fun to recreate. It was a long card which I have also wanted to try. With 2 areas going for me I decided to give it a shot. While my background is busier than the one in the magazine I think I kinda like it. Let me know what you think.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Bud Basics, Simple Sayings II (retired) Paper: Gable Green, Pink Passion, White Ink: Gable Green, Pink Passion, Basic Gray Accessories: Whimsy jumbo wheel and handle, Pink Gingham ribbon (online ribbon share).

Color Challenge with Designer Series Paper

Okay ladies it is another week and I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ruger has been with us for 2 weeks now and I can not believe how much he is growing, I have had to adjust his collar twice, well it is at the end now so I will need to get him a new one sometime this week.
Today we are doing a sketch challenge from Poetic Artistry
Mojo Monday, you can visit her blog here (blog). Robbie and I decided to do her sketch today with the new Designer Series Paper. I am using Bail Breeze and Robbie will be using Ginger Blossom.
I really think it is neat how Poetic Artistry shows off all the creations that she receives. Check out the slide show below her Mojo Monday this week to see the sketches from week before, you will notice that Robbie's card is in that slide show.

Sketch Saturday

Children are wonderful! You raise them to be independent adults and when they are gone and living on your own you develop your own routine and patterns for doing things. Life is going well. Then all of a suddon "boing". They call you up and you have to drop everything you are doing and rearrange your schedule to help them deal with their crisis. I guess motherhood never ends, even when they are grown and gone.
I have had one of those weeks. Both of my girls have had a crisis that I needed to help them with. Add to that my job and responsibilities and I have been a busy lady. But the weekend is here and I am hoping to catch up on my sleep.
I saw this sketch on a blogI was looking at and thought it would be a fun one to do.

Here is the card I made. Let me know what you think.

Stamps: Wanted, Seeing Spots Paper: Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue, Pretty In Pink, So Saffron, Rosey Bias Plaid from Scrapbook Walls by Chatter Box Ink: Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue, Pretty In Pink, So Saffron Accessories: Scallop punch, Circle punches, Mellow Moss-Pretty in Pink-Brocade Blue-So Saffron brads, dimensionals, sponges, red sticky tape

Wednesday's Design by Robbie

Okay I know I am posting late but I have been busy trying to get my webcam staight so I can talk to Michaela. She is really struggling right now since she has not been able to talk to anyone for 3 days. Still didn't get it to work but I did sign up to be able to call her cell through the site which will only cost me $.40 for a connection fee and then $.02 a minute. Can't beat that.

So here is my card. I saw the sketch on Splitcoast last week and really liked it. I decided to use that to create the card. I checked my sheet for the colors that coordinated with the Designer Series Paper and pulled them to use (or so I thought). As it turned out I was supposed to use So Saffron and Bashful Blue. I did not pay attention to my paper as I have a new storage system (thanks to the great guy I am dating) and instead of pulling So Saffron I pulled Barely Banana. It looks okay but I think it would have been better had I used the So Saffron. I also decided to try offsetting the layer behing the swirl for a change. Let me know what you think.

Stamps: Priceless, So Many Sayings (Hostess, Spring/Summer 07) Paper: Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Le Jardin Designer Series, Very Vanilla Ink: So Saffron, Not Quite Navy Accessories: Large and small oval punch, circle punches, ric-rac (ribbon share I participated in) Not Quite Navy brads, dimensionals.

We decided to mix things up a bit. This week we are using a sketch and specific colors to create our cards. The sketch I chose was from here. Transform a 6x6

This was one of the projects that was done at a workshop on Friday night. I have to confess that I was a bit nervous about doing a workshop so large. Thank you Jeri for hosting this workshop, I think that it went really well.
I am going to take this project and make it into a 12x12 scrapbook page, so come back later to see what I came up with. I love it when I see a card and then it totally inspires me, see the card for my inspiration and the layout later.

Sorry I missed posting yesterday, I have been preparing all week for a show that I am doing tonight. This show will be my largest hostess show ever - 20 girls.
Well back to how I came up with this card, has a sketch challenge each week, so instead of coming up with an idea on my own I just decided to make a card with this sketch. You can visit SCS by this link to see other cards done using this Sketch challenge.

Wednesday's Design by Robbie

Well what do you think of that snow we had yesterday. I had an observation at 1:15 and when I went in it was just a snow shower. When I cam out 45 minutes later the ground was covered. Was I ever surprised. We were all wondering where our snow was and now we don't have to wonder any more. The key will be if we get some more before Spring gets here.
I have been in a pink and brown mood lately. All the cards I see with these 2 colors I have really liked. So I used those colors for my card today. I also saw a sketch on iheart2stamp website that I liked and decided to use it. Here is the sketch and my card:

Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes, Priceless, Sweet Shapes, So Many Sayings (retired) Paper: White, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, DCWV Spring Stack Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink Accessories: ribbon (Michael's), Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink markers, Word Window punch, dimensionals
So, what do you think? Thanks for looking!

New Member of the Schwartz Family

Well when we went to pick him up on Saturday Sloane and Sam still had no idea what we were doing. They were both very excited when they found out he was going home with us. He seems to be adjusting well.
He is already house broken and he walks great on his leash.

Sketch Saturday

Well I think our nice weather will end next week. The weatherman has us for the 40's next week. That still isn't bad considering we could be in the teen's. I was reading several blogs and found a sketch and a color challenge I decided to combine. I like the colors and the card is very dotty but I think it is cute anyway. What do you think? The sketch is from Beate's blog and the color challenge is from Michelle's blog. Both of these ladies do some great work. Visit their blogs and join in on the fun. Here is the sketch and my card.

Another Friday Special

I am really enjoying this weather. It does however create a problem when you look forward to making lots of snowmen cards and the weather just does not say snow! One of the blogs I read has some gorgeous cards on it. I love what she does but they are not quick cards. After looking at her cards I wanted to try some of the techniques she uses in a card I made. Here is what I created. Let me know what you think of it.
Stamps: Garden Silhouettes Paper: Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum Ink: Elegant Eggplant Accessories: Pale Plum - Mellow Moss - Elegant Eggplant markers, ribbon (Michael's), hole punch, ticket corner punch, gold brads, sponge

Thursday's Design by Candice

Oh my gosh it has just been one of those days, you know what I mean we have all had them :-).
I have some news to tell, we will be adding to our family and we pick him up on Saturday. We are adopting a puppy and he is so cute (but aren't they all). I will post some photos this weekend when we get him home, Sloane and Sam have no idea, but they have both been asking for one. I can't wait to see their faces when they see him.
Okay so on to my card, I was cutting for my workshop for Friday and I knew I had to do a post today so I used all my scraps to make this one, I hope you like what I came up with.

Color Challenge

Candice and I have been running lately. She is busy with her kids and school events and I have been busy preparing for the next semester. We missed yesterday but decided to do it today just so you would not miss us! This week I decided we should do blue cards. I was thinking at the time that we could do snowmen since it would be cold. But with the weather lately I really wonder if we will get any snow. In honor of our gorgeous weather, here is my card.
Stamps: Festive Favorites, Thanks Snow Much (retired) Paper: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, and last year's designer series paper from the Holiday Mini Ink: Basic Black, Whisper White Craft Accessories: Going Gray - Pumpkin Pie - and Night of Navy markers, photo corner punch, stickles, dimensionals, computer to generate sayings.
The inside saying is "Will it snow, Will it snow, Will it snow!" Couldn't resist this play on the popular song with our weather we are having. I also had great lighting so there is a shadow fron the photo corner which was popped up. I can't believe how clear the card is with just a lot of sunlight to photograph the picture in. Here is Candice's card.
Stamps: Merry & Bright, Season by Season, and Happy Everything Paper: Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, and White Ink: Taken with Teal and Basic Black Markers: Taken with Teal, Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise, and Gelly Roll Pen Accessories: Tempting Turquoise Ribbon, Soft Sky Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, Stickles, Dimensionals, Circle Punches, Scallop Punch, Cuttlebug, Taken with Teal and Tempting Turquoise Brads.

Friday Special

Well I need to apologize for not posting on Wednesday. I have a terrible cold and it really knocked me down. I just couldn't get the energy to do anything. To make up for that I have a card for you today. One of the blogs I read, fresh&fun, does a weekly sketch challenge. Beate is an amazing stamper and I am always envious of her creations. I decided to use her sketch to create my card for today. I also used a color combination I had used on a previously posted card that I love. Here is her sketch and my card.

Stamps:Doodle This, Doodle That, Time Well Spent, Sweet Shapes, Background Basics Paper:Garden Green, Marigold Morning - Cranberry Crisp (last year's in colors), Pretty in Pink Ink:Garden Green, Marigold Morning, Cramberry Crisp, Versamark Accessories:Detail Silver Embossing Powder (Stampa Rosa), Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen, Pink Organdy Ribbon (JoAnn's), red sticky tape, dimensionals.

Sorry the picture is dark. Not enough natural light. It is really sparkly with all the Stardust pen I used on it. May have to modify the colors and make this at my workshop for a Valentine card. What do you think?
