Wednesday's Design by Robbie

I went in a little different direction with this card. I saw the card on page 21 of the catalog and thought it would be fun to recreate it. I knew I had some lace so I pulled it out and went from there. When I had the card laid out on my table in front of me it just seemed too plain for me. remember an OLD set that I had that I had not inked up much so I pulled it out. The card then came together very quickly!
Stamps: Time Well Spent, Lace & Ribbons (retired) Paper: Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow, White
Ink: Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum Accessories: Lace, Spica Clear Glitter Pen, Crafter's Tool Kit, scallop and 1 3/8" circle punches, dimensionals
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

It's a Green Day!

Candice and I decided to do a card using just greens. I have the greens in Soft Subtles. Amy at HeartfeltGreetings has recently brought back her Super Sketch Sunday. While I couldn't play last week I liked the layout of her sketch and used it for this card.
In her sketch she used 3 different pieces of designer paper. I decided to use her layout and to create my own paper using cardstock and stamps. Here is her sketch and my card.

Stamps: Fresh Fillers (retired), Priceless (I love this set!), Unfrogettable Paper: Certainly Celery, Mellow Moss, White, Certainly Celery DS Ink: Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery Accessories: Ribbon (JoAnn's), sticky tape, sponges.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sketch Saturday

Here is Beate's Sketch for the weekend, Beate’s wsc#45 I have not done one for a while and I thought since it was my weekend to do the sketch that I would join this one. I hope you enjoy what I came up with, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
So I have to tell you, my show last night for the birthday party/sleepover went really well, all the girls were awesome and they really seemed to enjoy themselves. The girls loved the little flower pots and bag toppers. I would love to do another one of these parties.

Thursday, Thursday almost Friday.

Alright Ladies what do you guys think of the news that I posted yesterday? Now that the Stamp-A-Stack is over I think I can get back on track. I really enjoy doing these events, but I really get backed up on all the other things, I am sure that you noticed I didn't post but once last week. Well anyway back to normal. Check out my SU web page for the event that I will be doing on the 18th of May, all are welcome, please feel free to contact me if you are interested.
I have 2 events this weekend that I have been preparing for. Sunday Tonya will be hosting a workshop, and on Friday night my best friends daughter is having a sleepover for her birthday. We will be doing 2 projects with 10 girls. We will be making those cute little flower pots that I did in the beginning of April, and we are also going to make a bag topper using the cello bags, which will be filled with candy. I know Josie and Sloane enjoy stamping and I am hoping that the other girls have just as much fun with it. Well anyway here is my card for today.

Wednesday's Design by Robbie

I was surprised to see Julee had used the same basic sketch but a different shaped center image. After thinking about it, I thought what a great idea. A good way to get more bang for your buck. When I saw the circle as the main center panel I immediately thought of flowers. Then I thought I had done a lot of flowers lately and I wanted to mix things up a bit so I started going through my stamp sets to see what else I had. I pulled this set out and decided to use it. I created the center image and then began matching paper to see what I could do. It was a little challenging but I finally came up with my creation. Here is the sketch and my card.
Stamps: Noteworthy, Trees Three, Watercolor Minis (all retired) Paper: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, White, Flowers for You DS Ink: Certainly Celery, Gable Green, Glorious Green, Green Galore, StazOn Timber Brown, Whisper White Craft Accessories: Green Dew Drops, Crystal Clear - Iridescent Ice - Rainbow Razzle embossing powder (all of these are mixed together in a sandwich storage container, White Line Defining embossing powder (Embossing Arts Co.), sponges, dimensionals.
Have a great hump day! Thanks for looking!

Color Challenge Monday

Did you miss us last week? I am trying to get everything straight before I leave for my trip to Italy. There is always a million things to do before the big day. I am going to try and make cards before I go so that I can have something for you to look at while I am traveling the roads with my girls.

Today's challenge Candice and I decided to use Tempting Turquoise. We could then choose whatever other colors to go with it. VerveVisual is having a contest to win some spending money in their store. They gave you an inspirational piece to begin and you could go from there. When I was the pillows the first thing I thought of was all the beading. Well the wheels started turning and I wanted to create a cards with beads on it. Now I bet you are all thinking I used sticky tape and just attached the beads. Wrong! I used wire and strung the beads on the wire. Then I poked holes in the cardstock around the inside and outside of the design and ran the wire through them. The challenge was the fact that each line of the design has a separate wire running from one hole to the other. Once I figured out a system it wasn't bad. I really like how it looks, but I bet you are all saying "This girl has too much time on her hands!" Not really just every once in a while I get these "fabulous ideas" and need to follow through with them. lol
So, is your curiousity really peaked? Are you ready to see this masterpiece? Here it is! You can all post a comment and tell me how creative I am. I won't let it go to my head! :)

Stamps: Fancy Florals Remixed, Seeing Stars, Thoughtful Florals (all from Verve Visual) Paper: Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise, White Ink: Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise Accessories: Summer Sun and Tempting Turquoise markers, 24 guage wire, beads, Crafter's Tool Kit, sticky tape, sponges, dimensionals.
Well I hope you enjoyed this card. Someone really special will get it as it took a lot of time. Have a great Monday!

Sketch Saturday on Sunday

I hate to say it but I was feeling really stressed about the fact that I was not able to stamp any last week and do Julee's sketch challenge. I am on a roll and don't want to break my streak (at least not until I go to Italy)! lol Well guess what? I was able to use her sketch from last monday and finish this card for today. I can now breathe another sigh of relief (at least until tomorrow).
Okay, so here is the sketch and my card. It was a little bit of a challenge for me as it was a square card and I took I Julee's advice and did a 4.25 x 4.25 card so I could use a regular size envelope for mailing. I knew what stamp I wanted to use and I had the main image and the bottom panel done when I discovered I could not put the brads on and have it fit. That sent me back to the stamping board. But I got it after another trial and error with the bottom panel.

Stamps: In Full Bloom, Hello Spring (Retired), Betsy the Beekeeper (retired) Paper: Glorious Green, Yoyo Yellow, White Ink: Basic Black, Glorious Green, Soft Sky, Summer Sun, Yoyo Yellow Accessories: Bloomin' wheel, Crystal Effects, black and yellow brads, aquapainter, dimensionals.
So what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know. I am off to work on the Color Challenge card for tomorrow. Check back to see what we come up with. Thanks for looking. Happy Sunday and I hope you get some time to stamp today!

Stamp-A-Stack Success

Wow what a week it has been. I apologize for not posting but I have been very busy. Candice and I did our Spring Stamp-a-Stack Friday night and Saturday morning. There was a lot of giggles and eating. I think everyone had a good time.
The ladies made 5 of each of the six designs below. They walked away with 30 cards. A great deal for $30! We will be sending out a survey to get some feedback so be looking for the e-mail and let us know what other events you would like to see us plan.
Check back later as I am working on the Saturday Sketch. Thanks for looking. Have a great Sunday!

My mess and 2 quick cards.

My girlfriend asked me to make her two wedding cards. I put the two of these together in just about 5 min. maybe even less. I just used the supplies that were in the Tie the Knot Simply Scrappin' Kit. I am really excited about a class that I am working on. Watch my SU Demo Website for an upcoming class using a Simply Scrappin' Kit.
As for this pile of stuff, it is all for the stamp camp on Friday and Saturday. I am pretty much done cutting for 2 of the projects and hopefully I will start cutting for my third project tonight. Just waiting for my paper to get here. Thanks for stopping by.
Candice ;-)

Sneak Peek - In Colors

Okay ladies here is a sneak peek at the NEW in colors and a few of the NEW images that will be in the upcoming catalog.

Another Mojo Monday contest! Julee at PoeticArtistry is having another contest. Use this
sketch to create a card and upload it to be considered for a free stamp set. I just won recently so I do not expect to win again, but I love her sketches as they are so easy to do. I have wanted to do a black and white card with just a pop of another color so I took off from there. Here is her sketch for this week and my card.

Color Challenge Monday - A Day Late

I bet you are wondering what is going on. Well I had this card created yesterday but the weather was so dreary I could not get a decent picture. Today was a little brighter so I was able to take a pic.
Last month one of the color challenges on Splitcoaststampers was to use Basic Black, River Rock, and white. I saw lots of beautiful cards created with this color combination and wanted to give it a try. I really liked this sketch I had used before so decided to use it for this card. Here is what I came up with.
Stamps: Garden Silhouettes (retired) Paper: Basic Black, River Rock, White, River Rock DS Ink: Basic Black, River Rock Accessories: Basic Black marker, Photo Corner punch, Word Window punch, oval cutters, black organza ribbon
So, what do you think? Thanks for looking and have a great evening!

Sketch Saturday

Wow what crazy weather we have had this week. Close to 80 degrees, then sleet, heavy rain, and who knows what the weekend will be like. But that is Maryland weather for you. They say if you don't like it wait a minute and it will change. I hope everyone was able to enjoy the 80 degree day!
Earlier this week I told you about the search for a guest designer at VerveVisual. I talked about how the sketch was a great one and that I would definitely want to use it. Well I took advantage of the fact it was my week for the sketch challenge and used it to create my card. I am submitting it but there are so many other talented stampers out there I don't think I will get chosen. But that is okay as it is fun to try. As part of the challenge you had to use at least one of their stamps sets and it had to be a long card so you could not change the shape. I have 3 of their sets and chose the Seeing Stars one. I had wanted to use the stars to make flowers so I stamped them on the designer paper and cut them out. I then played with them by layering one on top of the other to get my flower but I did not like how the flower looked. Then I had to change my idea and head in a different direction. It is hard to see in the picture but the pink paper on top has the swirls from the star swirl stamped around the edges. Here is the sketch and my card. I think it is soooooo cute! What do you think?

Stamps: Seeing Stars (Verve Visual) Paper: Green Galore, Pretty in Pink, White, DCWV Spring stack (last year) Ink: Basic Black, Green Galore, Pretty in Pink Accessories: Star brads, dimensionals, sticky tape.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Wednesday's Design by Robbie

Yeah it's Wednesday! I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather we have today. Well I am keeping my streak going. I did the Mojo-Monday sketch for my card today. If anyone is interested Julee from the VerveVisual stamp company is having a contest looking for a guest designer for June. They have a great sketch to try. If you think you might want to be the next guest designer head over there and post your card. If not the sketch is a great one to use to create a card to send to someone.
Here is my card and the sketch. I spent more time with the ovals in the hardware than anything else. I'm not sure you can see but there are actually 3 layers inside the hardward. The bottom layer is Green Galore, the second layer is Tempting Turquoise, and the last layer is white. I wanted a hint of the green to show. You can barely see it in real life. I also stamped the scallop circle with the canvas background before I punched it. It is also hard to see. The turquoise layer in the center is actually Flowers for You Designer Series Paper but my photo did not show the hint of flowers on it. I didn't have a ribbon that was wide enough that I liked so I created 2 layers of cardstock and put the grosgrain ribbon on top. It actually looks much better in real life but it wasn't bright enough when I took my picture.
Stamps: Unfrogettable, Cute Converse (retired), Watercolor Minis (retired), Canvas background (retired) Paper: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Flowers for You DP, Sweet DP (retired) Ink: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise Accessories: silver hardware (JoAnn's), Green Galore brads, large and small oval punch, scallop punch, turquoise ribbon, sponges, dimensionals, sticky tape.

Hope you have a great day and Thanks for looking!
