A Sunny Day

I can't believe my time here in Hawaii is almost up. It went by so fast. We had a good day today and I will share some photos at the end.

Here are 3 more pages from my daughter's scrapbook.

Today we went whale watching. It started with a beautiful drive down the coast. Here are a couple of pics.

We arrived at the site for the big hike. Here are a couple of pics to show the climb.

After the climb we got lucky. We first saw a turtle in the water we got some pictures of.

We then spent the next 2 hours watching and we were able to see several whales. They were far out in the water so I have several shots of the whales coming out of the water. Here they are.

I thought I would share some pictures of the climb from the top. Here are a few.

This is a closer view of the same picture as above.
We ended the day by going into Honolulu for some dinner, frozen yogurt, and watching the sunset. I'll share those pictures tomorrow.
Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

My Last Post of 2009

Well this is the last post I will make for 2009. I can't believe that when I get back and post on Monday it will be 2010. Are any of you making any New Year's resolutions? I don't make them as it seems like most people can't keep them and I would fit that category so I just don't make them to begin with.
Here are the last pages I have completed from my daughter's scrapbook. I will be completing the other pages when I get home so I will share them with you when I get them done.

For my last pics from Hawaii I am sharing some that I took after our whale watching. We went into Honolulu to watch the sunset. Unfortunately it was cloudy so we didn't get the great pictures I got the other evening.
This is a dinner cruise ship that goes out several evenings.

This was the rain coming down while we were waiting for the sunset.

This is a picture of Diamond Head from the beach.

This was the best shot I could get of the sunset with the clouds.

Tomorrow is our last day to do any sightseeing or visit any of the sites. We leave on Saturday in the evening. It has been great having some warm weather while you had snow and cold. I hope everyone had a great New Year's and that the new year will bring good things for all of you. Your visits mean a lot to me and I look forward to creating lots of great projects for you in 2010! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

A busy day!

We had a great day today. It was very busy and we saw a lot of beautiful scenery.

Today's share are more pages from Michaela's scrapbook. I have to do some journaling when I get home as I left my pen home. I also have more pages to add as I didn't cut enough background pages. I decided to have the 2 pages side by side the same color so it would flow better. Here are 3 more pages.

Today we started out driving up the coast towards the North Shore. It was a beautiful drive. Here are some shots. The first is a shot of Turtle Island. This is where the marine base is located that I am staying on. The second is the waves in the ocean.

On our drive we stopped at the shrimp shacks for lunch.

We then headed up to the Waimea Valley to the botanical gardens and the waterfalls. The flowers were gorgeous. Lots of hibiscus in different colors. The waterfalls were gorgeous.

Then we headed to Turtle Bay to see the turtles. The waves were gorgeous and we did see some turtles in the water but none came out on the beach.
We ended out day in some shops on the North Shore where I bought some earrings. We then headed home as the rain was settling in. No sunset this evening. Tomorrow we are going to try whale watching. Hope we have better luck with the whales than we did with the turtles.
Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

A Christmas Present Scrapbook

Well I am posting late again! It is so hard to get used to the time change. I try to post my entry so it is there for you at 5:00 am EST but last night we went to the movies and I was tired when I got home.

This week I am going to share pictures of my daughter's scrapbook I made her as a Christmas present. This is an 8 x 8 of the beginning of her career. She got an internship and is spending a year in New York. In June she will be going to California, then after a year she will be placed in the company somewhere. I thought she might like a scrapbook of each of her placements and the apartment searching. Here are the first 4 pages of her book.

Stampin' Up Supplies
Paper: Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Bella Bleu DS Accessories: Not Quite Navy marker, various circle punches, scallop edge - round tab - small, large, scalloped oval - boho blossoms punches, Very Vanilla brad
The girls went to the beach yesterday and I stayed home (still fighting a cold). They had to change their plans as Obama was at the beach they wanted to go to. Last night we went to see the movie It's Complicated. Great chick flick!
I will post some more scrapbook pages tomorrow. Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday evening!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I am a little late with this post as yesterday I was not feeling well. I am catching a cold and it is no fun. I spent the day on the couch so I don't even have pictures of our excursions yesterday since we didn't go anywhere. We were supposed to go to the Hawaiian Bowl football game but had to change our plans. The girls made cookies all day for our dinner today. We are getting together with a bunch of the wives whose husbands are all deployed. Some have family in and some don't. There will be about 20 of us. It will be lots of fun!

Today's card is the last one I made for Operation Write Home organization. It uses a set we got as a promotion. I think it is called Weather or Not. Here is my creation.

Stampin' Up Supplies
Stamps: Weather or Not Paper: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink Ink: Regal Rose

Since we did not go anywhere yesterday I will share a few scenery pictures from the previous days!

Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Christmas Day!

A Jam Packed Day

Happy Christmas Eve!

Information about today's activities are at the end of this post.

Another card I made for the Operation Write Home organization uses the retired set Gently Falling. It was a simple card so I added some embossing for a little pizzazz. Here is my creation.

Stampin' Up Supplies
Stamps: Gently Falling Paper: Real Red Ink: Real Red
We had the military tour of Pearl Harbor yesterday. This tour is different from the regular tour in that we got to go around the harbor and see the sites of the other battleships destroyed in the attack. It was very good and if you have the chance (and the connections - someone in the military) I highly recommend it. Here are some pictures.
the first battleship we saw
The Arizona Memorial - this was built on top of where the Arizona sunk and you could see the ship underneath
the Arizona underwater
The next set of pictures are of a sunset at Waikiki. It was gorgeous!
Hope you enjoyed today's photos from Hawaii. I am headed to bed as it was a long day! Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!
