Late Night Stampers - Thanksgiving

Happy Monday Stampers!

Can you believe that tomorrow is November?  And that means Christmas is only 2 months away!  Ahhhhh!  How is your shopping coming?  I need to start picking up some things.

Before I share my card for today I need to let you know who the winner is of the free pass for Christmas Dreams.  I used Random Number Generator and here is what it came up with.

So that means Patrice Herrera is the winner.  Patrice I will send your e-mail address to CherylAnne.  Be looking for an e-mail from her giving you access to the site.  Congratulations!

We have a great challenge at Late Night Stampers this week.  We are to create a Thanksgiving project which can include cards, scrapbooks, home décor, hostess gifts, etc.    I went for a card.  I pulled out my Color Coach and started looking at Thanksgiving colors.  I did not want to use Pumpkin but rather went for other colors.  I looked at So Saffron and it paired it with Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.  I liked the look and went with those.  Here is what I created.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  I love the color combination.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

A Halloween Medallion

Hi Ladies!

Edited to add: I received several e-mails asking how I made the medallion so large (it is actually 9 inches across).  I used 1 sheet of ds paper and cut it at 3 inches.  This gives you 4 strips.  Score each strip every 1 inch and then join the strips as you would for a smaller medallion/lollie.  If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Today is the last day to be included in the drawing for a free pass to Christmas Dream from Stampin Fun and Friends.  Make sure you go to this post and leave me a comment.  I will pick a winner this evening.

Yesterday was a chilly day.  It rained off and on all day.  The areas around us got a snow storm.  I would have preferred to have the snow but we still have a lot of leaves on trees so we would have probably lost electricity.  Maybe the rain was a blessing after our problems from Hurricane Irene.

My share today is not a card.  It is a Halloween medallion.  Lollies/Medallions are a rage right now.  I saw a UStream where the lady made a large medallion that you could hang on your wall.  I made my own.  This one measures about 12 inches across.  I used some retired paper.  I saw several cards where they used paper to create a skirt for the witch using the Wicked Cool set.  I decided to give it a try for the image on the front of my medallion.  It takes a real knack and I think I need some more practice.  Here is my creation.

I had fun making this and now I have a wall decor for my house.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Falling Leaves

Wow we are at the end of another week!  Where does the time go?

I am getting together with one of my best friends today.  We have not seen each other in a couple of months.  We try to get together every couple of months.  We will do some shopping and have a long relaxing lunch.  I am so looking forward to seeing her.

Our sketch at Sketch Frenzy Friday this week was created by Tammy Fite.  This sketch was a little challenging.

I needed one more card for my workshop this weekend so I decided to use this sketch to create my card.  I wanted to do another fall card so I thought the little leaves in the Falling Leaves set would be perfect.  I decided to turn the squares to form diamonds.  Here is my creation.

I used the rock-n-roll method on the leaves and then punched them with the postage punch.  I also only used 2 strips of ribbon rather than 3 as the third strip would be invisible.

So are you ready to hop on over to Tammy Baldwin's blog to see what she did with the sketch?  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Casing a talented lady

Good Morning Ladies!

I am so far behind that I am barely keeping my head above water so this will be a fast post.

I saw a great card on Kris McIntosh's blog that was gorgeous.  I wanted to use it for my workshop but did not have the image she used or the embossing folder.  I used a different image and embossing folder and here is my case.

You can't see but the tree is embossed with clear and I added silver pearls in the center of the snowflakes.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Since I needed to make a card for the Late Night Stampers challenge to use a tree or leaf on your card, I decided to use leaves for the flower element.  Here is what I created.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Inspiration week

Hello Ladies!

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a great picture for our inspiration challenge.

https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=a77edda91c&view=att&th=1332794448fb67cc&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw

When I saw this I was immediately drawn to the pumpkin in the middle and the pine cones on the table.  I immediately thought of the Spice Cake ds paper with the brown striped pattern.  I also wanted to punch some pumpkins.  I set to work and this is what I created.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and that you will head over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog and join us this week.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Sunny Stampin Morning Challenge 2

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

I had a great time with Zoie this weekend.  I promised to share the hat I made for her with you and I have 2 pictures for you.  If you don't want to see these scroll down to see my card.

Jess had asked me to make some winter hats for Zoie.  She sent me several that she liked but I also went looking and found one that I loved.  I went shopping for yarn so I could make it.  I finished it last week so when Zoie came down we did a modeling job.  Here she is in her hat.

Isn't she just so cute in her hat?  She loved it.

Okay enough with the cute baby stuff let's get on to the card.  We had a new challenge at the Sunny Stampin Chat Room.  We were to use ds paper to make a card and a matching envelope.  I had some of the Paisley Petals paper and decided to use it.  Here is my card and my matching envelope both from the paper.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge.  I took an envelope apart to make my template for the envelope.  I really had fun with this challenge.  Have you ever done something like this?  If not why don't you join us and then share your project with us.

Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Halloween

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited!  Jess and Zoie are coming for the weekend.  I will have lots of time to play.  I have crocheted Zoie a cute winter hat.  I can't wait to try it on her.  I will try to get pictures to post on Monday.

Friday means Sketch Frenzy Friday's sketch challenge.  Our sketch this week was designed my Tammy Baldwin.

Isn't this a great sketch!  I saw this and knew I wanted to do one more Halloween card before I put my stamps away.  I used the hat from Wicked Cool and the spider and cat from Batty for You.  I punched everything out and layered them.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

Isn't this a great card!  I love how it turned out.  So are you ready to see what Sharon did with the sketch?  Head on over to her blog to see what she made.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

A quick and easy card using patterned paper

Happy Thursday Ladies!

It was rainy and dreary yesterday. Perfect day to stay in bed with a good book.  Had a lot to do so I could not take advantage of that.

Another jam packed day today so I will get right to the card.

My card today began with Mary Jo's Techno Stamper sketch challenge.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sLEf7DEKfAQ/Tps-IVVVg4I/AAAAAAAAGCk/IeY1bF8uDTg/s1600/TSSC196.jpg

I went looking for some patterned paper to use and ran across a piece in the Flirtatious Specialty paper and I thought it would be fun to stamp on the paper.  I pulled out my Creative Elements and used the swirl to stamp on the paper.  Then I just added the other paper and the butterfly.  Here is my creation.

This is also a blog hop so you can see all the cards that have been made so far.  There are some great ones so check them out and leave them a comment.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!
