Hand Stamped Sentiments - banner bash

Good Morning Ladies!

Well  I was chosen to sit a jury but the case got solved in the judge's chambers before it began.  Good thing I took my knitting as I spent a lot of time sitting and waiting.  Hopefully  I won't be called again for a while.

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments our challenge is all about banners.

I needed to make my winter banner for my ladies as they have the other seasons and we need to get this one made.  I had lots of fun with the punches on this one.  Some images are cut out with my Silhouette.  since it was so long I had to take the pictures in sections.  Here is what I created.

I hope you head on over to the team blog to see what the other ladies created.   There are some very challenging ladies on this team.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - Go Green

Good Morning Stampers!

Well we begin another week.  What plans do you have for this week?  I hope it includes some time to play.

Our challenge this week is all about green.  We are to create a project and have green on our project somewhere.

I also used the  burnished embossing technique from Technique Junkies.

Here is what I created.

I love the burnishing technique.  It is perfect for a monochromatic color card.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Sunday

Happy Sunday!

Well I spent yesterday checking out the 4 vehicles I have narrowed it down to.  I drove all of them again and I still don't know what to do.  Any suggestions?

My card today used 2 challenges.  For my color selection I used the color challenge at Cards and Things

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WW7g1OvGpfA/T0NU0JsQrPI/AAAAAAAAHkg/VL2NZDqfocM/s1600/108.png

I combined it with the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I played with my doily stamps as I hadn't used them in a while.  I also added pearls as this card just seemed to need them.  Here is where I created.

I have a lot to do today since I was busy yesterday!  Hope I can get it all done.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Saturday

Good Morning Stampers!

What plans do you have for today?  I have an errand to run and I may go back and test drive 2 vehicles I am thinking about.  Just depends on my time.

It is time for our Butternut Sage Designs chat challenge again.  This time we have a color challenge.  Donna was away on vacation so those of us who were chatting chose the colors.  The colors we had to use were   Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, and Wisteria Wonder.

I knew with these colors I would need some help so I found a sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers

This was a challenging color combo.  Trying to get all the colors in there and to work took some playing.  Here is what I created.

So what do you think?  Do you think I handled the color combo okay?  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Doilies

Happy Friday Everyone!

Wow yesterday was gorgeous!  Today is supposed to be even better.  I hope you have some time today to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

Since it is Friday that means it is time for a sketch from our Sketch Frenzy Friday group.  We have a great sketch this week designed by Maria Vanderform.

My interpretation of the sketch is a little different.  I also think I may have forgotten to add a bow to the ribbon.  It just looks like something is missing to me.  Here is what I created using the sketch.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Now it is time to head on over to Sharon Wheet's blog to see what she did with the sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Pretty Raining Flowers

Good Morning Ladies!

Quick post as I am posting this last night and I am tired.  I have been working on making cards for my design team commitments ahead of time.  I wanted to work ahead so in case I get called for jury duty I at least have some things to post until the weekend.  So far I have not been called but I know that won't last.

My card today began with the sketch challenge from Mary Jo's Techno Stamper blog.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nhSvfd_NZuw/T0G8ErfWbCI/AAAAAAAAGZ8/k-N70p40sCg/s1600/TSSC209.jpg

I think I got the color combo from my Color Coach.  I thought it was  color challenge but I could not find it so I think I got it from my Color Coach.  I had fun playing with a set I borrowed from a friend.  I wanted to use some new sets for a change so I borrowed several from her.  This is a great way to try stamp sets if you are unsure you want to purchase them.  This is a fun set as you will see with what I did with it.  Here is what I created.

I love the look of these colors.  They were fun to play with.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

This is a blog hop so check out the other cards made for the sketch challenge.

Sweet Floral Friendship

Well we are halfway through the work week!  Our weather is supposed be beautiful the next few days.  We may even hit 70 degrees.  I hope you will get a chance to spend some time outside.

I had some time the other day to play with a couple of challenges.  I used the color challenge from Just Add Ink

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-suoM2voRbMc/Tzxq5fOPspI/AAAAAAAAA2I/GgyNvpLRe-c/s1600/JAI_CC_105.jpg

I also used the sketch challenge from Stamping 411.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4BXX5_VtAQo/Tz3cJ8JdL8I/AAAAAAAAGzI/OBTaNSmqQdM/s1600/SSC243.jpg

I got the Sweet Floral stamp in my last order.  I was thinking of using it for an Easter card.  I decided to use it as a background on this card.  I also decided to go with a sentiment of the image.  I had fun working with these colors.  Here is what I created.

Why don't you take some time today and play with a challenge.  There are lots of good ones out there.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Color Blocking

Hello Stampers!

So what do you have planned for today?  I will be playing some this morning and then working later this afternoon.  I have been working ahead on some of my design commitments as I have a couple of swaps and tutorials I need to do.

Before I get into my card for the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge I wanted to share another photo with you.  I participate in a chat on Monday - Thursday.  Donna started this and we have a great time every day.  Donna has been on vacation so those of us left behind got a little creative.  We all took pictures of our feet and sent them to Robert who created this photo.  It was so much fun!

Ok enough silliness for today.  Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is color blocking.

I have tried this technique before and it just did not work for me.  I don't know what I was doing wrong.  I love this technique and this one worked out for me.  I wish I knew why this one worked and the others in the past have not.  If you know let me know.  Here is what I created using this challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies created with our challenge today.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - inspiration picture challenge

Hello Ladies!

Are you enjoying your day off?  I hope you are going to take some time to play today.  I do not have the day off - colleges rarely close for the small holidays.  I will play some later today.

I did some test driving on Friday and Saturday.  Haven't narrowed it down yet.  Still need to test drive some other makes.  I am hoping to do that this week but it will depend on whether I have jury duty or not.

We have a great challenge this week at Late Night Stampers.  It is an inspiration picture challenge.

So when you look at the picture what is the first thing you notice.  I saw the colors and the dots.  Since I saw those 2 things I used them to create my card for today.  Here is what I created using the inspiration from above.

inside of card and envelope

Isn't this a fun card?  I could not resist using the circles for my card.  I punched circles for the front of the card then used the punched paper as a template to apply ink to the inside of the card and the envelope.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Another new technique

Hello Stampers!

Well I am not sure how much snow we are going to get.  It went from getting nothing to getting 1 - 3 inches back to getting nothing.  We will see what happens today.

I played with another new technique the other day.  This one was an interesting one.  This one was called Crayon Shadows.  I have to admit with the stamp I chose I had to play with the technique a little to get it to work.  I really like how the butterfly turned out.  The purple flower isn't bad.  The burgundy flower is okay.  I did not use this technique on the leaves as the water would have messed up the flowers.  Here is the card I created using this technique.

inside of card and envelope

I will working on some cards to post later this week.  I may even do a project from the last session of Stampin' Fun and Friends as I have not have a chance to make any of them.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

A New Technique

Happy Saturday Ladies!

I pulled out my Technique Junkies SU Companion and checked out some of the techniques on it.  I found several on there that were interesting.  My card today used the Reinker Spread technique.  I used it on the flowers and then decided to play with a modified version for the background.  I am not sure about this one.  I like the idea for the background but need to play with it some more so that my colors blend more.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I will be playing with this technique more so I can get the blended look I want.  Hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday Ladies!

Do you have plans for the weekend?  I am hoping to spend some time in my craft room but I need to test drive some vehicles so that will determine how much time I am in there.  It will also depend on the weather.  If it is nasty I will not be one the roads.

Since it is Friday that means another sketch at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our sketch this week was created by Kim Innis

I had fun playing with the 3 elements on the left side.  I used a set I got the other day as there have been some great cards created with it.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

 inside of card and envelope

I also did some coloring with my markers which I haven't done in a while.  I am playing with some new techniques and different folds.  I will be sharing them off and on so be on the lookout for them.  Now it is time for you to hop on over to Sharon Wheet's blog to see what she did with the sketch.  If you get some time we would love to have you play along with us.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Daisies and Butterflies

Hello Everyone!

I love daisies and butterflies!  My card today uses both of those.  I used the sketch from Sunny Challenges and Creations

 http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KK7JuJf9LI4/TzX4QZy06hI/AAAAAAAAASY/MsTgvp-e8LY/s1600/SC-27-12.jpg

I liked this sketch and immediately had an idea.  It came together very easily.  I also tried a different ribbon treatment so let me know if you think it worked.  Here is what I created.

I love this card but then again I love daisies.  It is hard to see but I used the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder on the black pieces.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Fun Cottage Wall

Hello Ladies!

I had a little time yesterday after my cleaning and my time on the treadmill to make my card for today.  I am trying to work ahead on my design team commitments so that I can use my extra time to work on cards for other days.  I am hoping to use some of my time to work on some knitting projects I have had laying around for a while.

My card today used the color challenge from The Paper Players

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OMurjOdLaD8/Tyzvcv3pQ8I/AAAAAAAAI4U/diYnhliCtCc/s1600/Challenge+67.png

I combined it with the sketch challenge at Stamping 411

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wd5aOiyyV8s/TzWdwuUYY5I/AAAAAAAAGuQ/caHmOtcYzso/s1600/SSC242.jpg

I pulled out a set I have not used in quite a while.  It was fun to play with it.  I embossed the flowers on Vanilla which has some shine.  Here is what I created.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and it brought a smile to your face.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Love is in the Air

Hello Ladies!

I am so glad we are getting our warmer weather back.  I don't mind cold but this past weekend was too cold.  My heat pump ran constantly.  It will be nice to have some sunshine also.

We have a Love Challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I was ready to move on to another holiday but we still have this one to do.

When I saw the title I thought of hearts falling down the paper like from the sky.  I went with that idea.  I kept the card simple with just 1 stamped image and punched hearts.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

Make sure you head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies created for our challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!
