Coloring Down the Lines - Baja Breeze

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Wednesday is our day for our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.  I hope you will check out the other ladies as they work hard to have a great card to share with you.

This week we were to use

Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Basic Gray

OR

Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler

I have used a lot of More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler lately so I opted for the first color combo.  When I looked at the first color combo I thought of winter so that was the theme for my card.  I used an idea that I saw on a demo website and modified it for my card.  Here is what I created.

Are you ready to see what some of the other ladies created using these colors?  Hop on over to the next blog - Amanda at Our Crafty Playdate - to continue through the hop.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Tags

Hello Stampers!

Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a fun challenge this week.  We are to make TAGS.

I decided to pull out my tags die and use them.  My thoughts were to make tags that I could hand out to people that I interacted with.  For the long tag I used some of the packing paper that comes in our Stampin' Up order.  Here are the tags I created.

I hope you enjoyed my tags.  Pull out your dies and make some to hand out and brighten someone's day!

I am scheduling my posts for Monday through Wednesday on Sunday night.  If you don't get a new post on Thursday I am without power.

Over at Late Night Stampers this week we have a Thanksgiving challenge.  We want you to share you Thanksgiving cards with us.  I made a card last week that I loved so I CASEd myself and instead of adding pumpkins I added a sentiment.  Here is what I created.

Another long lost card

Good Morning Stampers!

I hope you have some plans today to do some stamping.  I don't know about you but there is so much to do between now and Christmas.  I really need to get making some Christmas cards to post.

As you can see from my banner the next session of Stampin' Fun and Friends will be beginning at the end of the week.  I have a free pass to one lucky reader.  To be in the drawing leave a comment and tell me what kind of card is your favorite to make.

My card today is another one I found the other day.  I made it quite a while ago and I actually used a technique that I cannot remember.  I love the look of the background on this card.  Here is my creation.

I hope you like my card today.  I had fun with the shading also.  I will be scheduling my posts for the next couple of days in case we loose electricity.  If you come in and things have not changed know that I lost electricity.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

A new lattice die shape

Good Morning Ladies!

Well the stores here are out of water.  There has been a run on generators, gasoline, and other supplies in preparation for the storm.  The weather forecasters still do not know where it will come ashore, but we are supposed to get high winds, heavy rain, and lots of power outages.  It will be interesting to see what the outcome will be.

I ran across this card the other day that had gotten buried in a pile.  I had never shared it with you.  While the stamp set, ds paper, and color has retired I love the way the Lattice die turned out when I cut some of the pieces out of it.  Here is what I created.

I love pink and brown together.  What is your favorite color combo?  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well we are the east coast are bracing for Hurricane Sandy!  No one knows where she is going or what we can expect.  It will be interesting to see what path she takes and how it affects us.

Friday means it is time for Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our sketch this week was created by Tammy Fite

When I was this I decided to use the strips to showcase designer series paper.  I chose the Be of Good Cheer paper.  I then decided to just add a sentiment so that the paper is front and center.  Here is my creation.

For the inside of the card, I used the punched pieces from the front elements.  Make sure you head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies created.  Then take some time and play along with us.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

A Christmas Tag Card

Hello Ladies!

I am in need of some cards for my workshop next week.  I decided to play with an idea for one for my card today.

Have you seen the Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags?  They are a great deal.  You get 25 double sided tags in the little book.  Now you may think you won't use all the Christmas tags but remember they are double sided so you can use the print on the other side after the holidays.  Here is one I created using this book of tags.

inside of card and envelope

See the sentiment on the card?  That is one of the single stamps you can purchase.  Have you gotten any?  They are a good deal if you just want one of the sentiments in the set.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Wild Wasabi

Happy Wednesday Stampers!

We are having some crazy temperatures this week.  We are supposed to be near 80 degrees today.  Then next week depending on the tropical storm we could have a hurricane or some messy wintery weather.  Crazy huh!

We have our next color coach challenge.  This week our colors to choose from were

Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Perfect Plum

OR

Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Early Espresso

I used the second color combo as it just appealed to me more.  I also pulled out a set I had not used in a while - Best of Everything.   Here is what I created.

I seem to be in a clean and simple mode lately.  Hope you liked this one.  Now it is time to head on over to Carol's blog - Carol's Cards to see what she did with our colors.  Hope you have some fun plans for today.  Make sure you take time to play!  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - picture inspiration

Good Morning Ladies!

I apologize for my photos not coming through yesterday.  Not sure what was going on.  When I checked at work they did not show up but on my computer at home they are showing up.  Still not sure what is happening.

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a great photo for inspiration.

When I looked at the picture I saw the leaves and the pumpkins so that is what I went with for my card.  I used our new Autumn Accents Bigz die to cut out some leaves and my punches to create some pumpkins.  I used a white gel pen to add some veins to my leaves.  Here is my creation.

I hope you will head over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog  to see what the other ladies created from our picture.  Then pull out your supplies and play along with us.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Ok now it is time to move on to my card for today.  Our challenge at Late Night Stampers  this week is Mosaic Madness - use a mosaic background of some sort.  I knew of one kind of mosaic where you take pieces of rubber and ink them up to make a mosaic background.  I have never been a fan of those style cards so I decided I need to do something else.  I googled "mosaic backgrounds" and found a great picture of square tiles.  I decided to use the picture as my inspiration.  I cut 1/2" squares of different colored paper and then arranged them to form my background.  Here is my creation.

To get the squares to stick I ran them through my Xyron.  This was just like laying tiles - you need something to keep it straight.  I just eyeballed it.  Hope you liked my mosaic card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Recreating a card from a book

Happy Sunday Stampers!

Wow, yesterday was fabulous.  The weather was gorgeous and we got some great apples.  The trees were gorgeous.  It was a perfect fall day!

My card today was one I made while visiting my friend Donna in Boston.  She had a book about Magenta stamps and we decided to see if we could create the same look using Stampin' Up products.  We did a lot of playing and layering of color but we were able to achieve a nice look.  I ended up using 4 different stamp sets to get the look I wanted.  Here is what I created.

It is fun finding a card in a book or magazine and recreating it using your supplies.  Have you given it a try?  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Affection Collection collage

Good Morning Ladies!

Well today I am headed to the mountains to see the leaves and get some apples.  It is supposed to be a great day and I am so looking forward to the trip.

My card today is one I created a few months ago and never posted.  It got lost in my stack.  I tried my hand at collage and layering.  The colors were for a color challenge.  I love the soft look.  Here is what I created.

So what do you think of my card?  Let me know.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Since it is Friday that means it is Sketch Frenzy Friday.  We have a new sketch this week.

I thought I would play with my Big Shot and the Top Note Die to create a different shape.  Here is what I created.

French Foliage - again

Good Morning Ladies!

I am so loving the weather we are having.  I actually cut my grass yesterday without a jacket.  I am watching the leaves but they are not very colorful here yet.

My card today is one of the last ones I made on a play date with a friend.  It is amazing how you can use the same set and same colors and come up with several different looks.  I don't think I will ever get tired of this set.  I bet you are though!  I really need to start thinking about some holiday cards any way.  Here is my creation.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - inked embossing folder

Hello Ladies!

I have been watching the leaf predictions over the past couple of weeks.  I have plans to go to the mountains to see the leaves and get apples.  I am hoping the leaves will have turned quite a bit by Saturday.  The local weather says this should be a good weekend to see some fall color.  I am crossing my fingers!

Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments  our challenge this week is to take an embossing folder and ink it up.

I wanted to use a folder that most people would not think of.  I pulled out my catalog and found the perfect one.  I decided I would use the square folder in the Designer Frames Folders.  My thoughts were that if I inked it up with black it would turn out like a picture frame.  I ran into some difficulty as I stamped my image first and then inked up the folder.  I tried it several times and only half of the frame would emboss.  I am not sure if I had inked up the wrong side or what.  I ended up using a marker to color in the rest of the frame.  Here is my creation.

I hope you liked my card today.  Make sure you head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies created with this challenge.   Thanks for looking and have Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - clean and simple

Hello Ladies!

What a great weekend it was.  I even went on a picnic yesterday!  I love Indian Summers.  The cool evenings and the mild days - perfect weather to have before the cold sets in.

Late Night Stampers this week has a clean and simple challenge.  We are to create a simple card with lots of white space.  I found a sketch at Utah Divas International that I thought would be perfect to use for a clean and simple design.

I decided to use leaves for the flower elements in the sketch.  I am having fun making all these fall cards.  Hope you are enjoying them.  Here is my clean and simple design for today.

I hope my card has inspired you to do some creating today.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Fall Table Decoations

Good Morning Ladies!

I needed a Fall table decoration and decided to play with a few ideas.

I saw an awesome wreath decoration on Jael's blog.   I knew I wanted to make one so I played with a friend and we made this wreath.

I knew I would need some other elements for my table decor so I added the pumpkin I made earlier this week.

Finally I decided to try a do an acorn.

Here is what the table decor could look like.

I hope you enjoyed my table decor today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!
