Sketch Frenzy Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  I had a great time with Zoie.  She got so many great presents and has had a fabulous time playing with them.

I cannot believe it has been a whole week since I last posted.  I did a lot of relaxing and reading stories to Zoie.  It was great.

Over at the Sketch Frenzy Friday Blog Sharon gave us a great sketch.

I decided to use some of my new items from the Spring catalog and the Sale-a-bration brochure that will be available soon.  Since I have not been in my craft room for a week I decided to keep my card simple.  Here is what I created.

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Bordering on Romance

Happy Friday Everyone!

I wanted to let you know that I will not be posting again after today until next week. I am finally all finished with work and my classes so I am going to use the time to relax and enjoy the holidays.

Friday is Sketch Frenzy Friday day.  Our sketch this week was created by me!   I had fun with this sketch design.

When I created the sketch I had a card in mind.  When I sat down to make it I could not for the life of me remember what I had planned on doing.  I decided to look through my stamp sets and came across my Bordering on Romance set and decided to use the cute little flower it.  I also decided to use the strip for one of the elements.  Here is what I created.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies created using the sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!  I also hope you have a Merry Christmas and enjoy the time with your family and friends.

Coloring Down the Lines - Pool Party

Hello Ladies!

Wednesday is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the first stop on the hop.  This week we were to use one of the following color combinations.

Pool Party, So Saffron, Not Quite Navy

OR

Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip

I wanted to move away from Christmas cards and create a simple card.  I opted for the second color combination as I thought of the Comfort Cafe ds paper and then the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  This was a quick card and would make a great guy card.  Here is my creation.

I loved the inside of the card.  I added a twist with the patterned paper.  Now it is time to hop on down the lines and check out Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see which combination she used and what she created.  I will not post tomorrow but will be back with my Sketch Frenzy Friday share.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Baby Wipe Technique

Good Morning Stampers!

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a fun technique.  It is the Baby Wipe Technique

I have never tried this technique so I was excited to give it a try.  I have to admit I learned a few things from my first try.  When I did this I used Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder.  I would suggest if you are going to do this technique you use darker colors as mine was not as dramatic as I would have liked.  Here is my creation.

Late Night Stampers - 3D make an ornament

Hello Stampers!

Wow can you believe we have 1 week before the holiday is here.  I hope you have all your shopping done and can enjoy the remaining time.  I am done except for the wrapping.  I am planning on doing that tonight.

Our challenge at Late Night Stampers is to make a 3D ornament.  I had no idea what I was going to do for this one.  I did not want to do the one that you find everywhere modeled after the one on the front of the Holiday Mini.  I took a few a days to think about it and remembered a few years ago a tree made using gumdrops and took that idea and ran with it.

I punched several circles of patterned paper, punched a small hole in the center, and then scrunched them in my hands.  I took a strip of Chocolate Chip and wound it into a cylinder and glued the end.  I then took some linen thread and a needle and threaded the button, cylinder, and alternated the patterned paper and beads.  I did this until I felt my tree looked good.  All I had to do was take a piece of Cherry Cobbler tulle and tie it on the top.  I then tied the bow at the top and the bottom and my ornament was done.  Here are some pics of the ornament.

I hope you enjoyed my ornament today.  What ornament can you share with us?  I hope you will make something to share.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday!

Well my classes are all done except for the grading and posting of grades.  I have most of my grading done just a few items left.

I have to tell you that I so appreciate you understanding my not posting every day.  I have been able to relieve some of my stress and get a lot of things done for the holidays.  With that said I will not post again until Monday!  I am going to be babysitting Zoie this weekend and I will be spending my time with her.

My card today is for the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Patrice.

This was a fun and challenging one.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do and then an idea hit me.  Here is what I created.

Hand Stamped Sentiment - thank you

Good Morning Ladies!

Well tonight is the last class of one of my classes.  This has been a busy semester and it will be nice to be able to relax a little.

Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments our challenge this week is all about the cards you will need after the holidays.  Once you have unwrapped all your gifts you will need to send a Thank You card for those gifts.  Our challenge is all about Thank You!

When I saw the challenge I was not sure what I was going to do.  Then I remembered I recently got the Field Flowers stamp set and knew it would be perfect for this challenge.  I kept my card fairly simple to show case this gorgeous stamp.  Here is my creation.

Some Zoie pics

Good Morning Ladies!

I had such a great weekend!  I got some projects graded and my shopping completed.  I had hoped to get some presents wrapped but ran out of time.

Last night as I was getting ready for bed I realized I had not done my post.  When I went into my draft posts I realized that the challenge at Late Night Stampers is running for 2 weeks and I did not have a project to post.  Since it was too late to make one, I decided to share some Zoie pics.

The last time I was up there I took a kitchen set we had gotten from my sister.  Zoie had a great time playing with it. Here is a pic of her having fun with it.

Zoie is constantly eating - you can't tell from her size as she is skinny as a rail.  Her favorite is fruit.  She loves bananas and strawberries.  We often have a mid afternoon snack.

This little girl goes 100 miles an hour all day long but when she zonks she goes quickly and is out like a light.  She has been known to sleep anywhere and at anytime.

She is asleep on the couch and her fit are hanging off the couch and not touching the floor.  Don't you wish we could fall asleep like this and stay asleep.

Hope you enjoyed my pics!  I promise I have a project for you tomorrow!  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Bells and Boughs

Happy Friday Everyone!

I wanted to let you know that during the month of December I will not be posting on Saturday or Sunday.  I am going to use the time I would use to create to spend with family and to enjoy the holiday season.

Over at Sketch Frenzy Friday Maria gave us this great sketch.

I really liked the layout and thought it would be a good one to use some of my ds paper on.  I had not used the holly image in the Bells and Boughs set so I began with it.

Coloring Down the Lines - Island Indigo

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Wednesday means it is time for our color challenge.  We have worked out way through all the main color collections and we are now working on the In Colors from last year.  Today's color choices were

Island Indigo, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade

OR

Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry

I opted for the second color choice.  I decided to go with a collage style card.  I am a Card Angel so I send cards to people who are undergoing chemotherapy.  I just got a new patient so I also needed a card for my person.  I decided to create my card today to send to my person.  Here is what I created with this color combination.

I think the person that gets this will really like it as it is colorful and fun.  Now it is time to hop on down the line.  The next stop is Amanda's Blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see which color choice she used and what she created with it.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Monochromatic

Good Morning Ladies!

Wow our weather was gorgeous yesterday.  We hit 70 degrees - totally unheard of for December for us.  We set a new record by one degree.  I thoroughly enjoyed my walk with Bijou.  It is supposed to be the same today so I am so looking forward to another gorgeous day and walk.

Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a monochromatic color challenge.

When I started looking at my colors to see which ones I wanted to use Early Espresso jumped out at me.  I knew I would use Crumb Cake for the light shade so I just needed a middle shade.  I tried a couple of different ones but liked Soft Suede.  Now I needed an idea.  I saw a card some where that had used the medallions stamp set.  Once I got my card made I spritzed it with Champagne shimmer spray.  Here is my creation.

Late Night Stampers - gift card holder

Happy Monday Everyone!

This week at Late Night Stampers our challenge is all about gift giving.  This week we are to make a gift card holder/money holder.  I had a friend send me a really easy gift card holder and I loved the look so I decided to recreate my version.

It begins with a piece of cardstock that measures 4 1/4" by 11".  You score it at 2 3/4" and at 5 1/2".  Fold the cardstock on the 5 1/2".  Open the card back up and take the side with the 2 3/4" score and fold it towards the middle of the card.  Take a circle punch and punch a half circle out of the part you just folded back.  Apply sticky tape to each side and attach the 2 sides.  This forms the pocket for the gift card on the inside.  Add your sentiment and decorate the front and it is done.  Here is what I created.

Hope you enjoyed my gift card holder.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Country Christmas with Polar Party

Good Morning!

I felt really good with what I accomplished yesterday.  I am hoping to be just as productive today.

My card today began with the sketch challenge at Fab Friday

I really liked the simplicity of this sketch.  I kept my card simple also.  Here is what I created.

Frosty Friends in Pool Party

Happy First Day of December!

Wow can you believe 2012 is almost over! So much happened this year that I think it will be a memorable year.

My card today was a card I made for a shoebox swap.  Back in August you remember I went to Boston to visit my friend Donna.  At her demo luncheon we did a shoebox swap.  We had to use something from the Holiday Mini as it was about to be released.  I chose to use the cute single stamp Frosty Friends.  I paired it with the snowflake embossing folder and some cute baker's twine.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

This was a fun card.  I used blender pens to add in the color.  Today I will be spending the time in my stamp room making design team commitments for the month of December.  Need to keep ahead since there is a lot going on this month.  Hope you have some fun plans for today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!
