Doily Play

Good Morning Stampers!

Yesterday was a beautiful day!  I started working in my flower beds on Monday.  I struggle each year with unwanted weeds and grass.  Anyone have any ideas that have worked for you?

I needed some cards for my workshop next week so I went looking at my challenge blogs for some inspiration.  My card today uses the color challenge at Dynamic Duos.

I decided to use the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge blog

Here is what I was inspired to make.  It will be one of the cards my ladies will make next week.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I am still not sure of it.  It does look better in person as you can see the embossing on the front of the card.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Melon Mambo

Happy Stamping Day!

Wednesday is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.   We are working our way through the color coach.  We are currently working on Dynamic Duos colors.  This week our color choice was

Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink

Last week we had 2 pinks also so I was not sure what I was going to do this week.  I started looking through my sets and decided to use my Creative Elements set.  Here is what I created using those 2 colors.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Are you ready for Spring yet?  I have crocus up and blooming and my daffodils are up with buds but no blooms yet.  I will have to take some pics to share with you.

The challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a sketch challenge this week.

I loved this sketch and wanted to focus on the upcoming Spring Season.  Nothing says Spring more to me than flowers blooming and birds singing.  I decided to go with the birds singing for my card today.  Here is what I created.

We would love to have you join us this week.  This is such a fun challenge and a fairly simple sketch.  Grab your supplies and play along with us!  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno - Going Green

Happy Monday Everyone!

I have some pics to share so if you want to see the card scroll down past the pictures.

I finally finished Zoie's sweater and took it with me when I went to see her this weekend.  Jess had asked me to make it a little bigger and the arms longer than the pattern so she could wear it for a couple of seasons.  Here she is with her sweater on.  She will not wear barrettes to keep her bangs out of her eyes as she pulls them out right away.

She is so much fun and loves to help me take Bijou for a walk.  I have a lot of fun when I go up to visit them.

Ok now for my card today.  Over at Late Night Stampers our challenge this week is all about St. Patrick's Day and green.  We were to make a card using green.  I am working on getting a few St. Patrick's day cards so I have them to mail out in a few weeks.  I was glad this challenge was for this week.

Mary Jo's has a great sketch this week.  One that was perfect to combine with this challenge.

Here is what I came up with for the 2 challenges.

A Pinterest inspired idea

Good Morning, Good Morning!

I am so excited!  Today is the beginning of the Nascar season for 2013.  I am a huge Nascar fan and today is the Daytona 500 race.  I will be heading home early so I can watch the race.

I go on Pinterest every once in a while.  When I started looking at the site I was looking for home ideas, recipes, knitting and crocheting ideas.  I ran across the cutest snowman door decor last year from Cindy at Cottage Instincts.  It took me a while to find a source for the white burlap as well as 3 different sizes of styrofoam circles but I finally found it all and made this one like hers.  I love this cute little guy and he looks so cute on my front door.  Here is my snowman door decor.

Hope my little snowman said Happy Sunday to you!  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!  I will be in front of the tv cheering on my driver!  :)

Embedded Image Technique - Serene Silhouettes

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you are having a good weekend and you are getting some time to create and play.  If you create anything I inspired you to do I would love it if you would share it with me.

I ran across a new challenge blog the other day.  This one uses a technique as their challenge.  Technique Time Tuesday had a great technique that I had never heard of.  I decided to use their directions and give this technique a try.

I wasn't certain what layout I would use but the Red Hot Stampers Sketch challenge blog had a great simple one that I decided would be perfect for what I wanted to do.

Now that I had a sketch and a technique I was ready to play.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I am not sure what I did wrong but the back of the patterned paper started showing through the front up near the blossoms.  I think it would look much better if it had not happened.  I may need to play with this technique a little more to see what I can do to avoid the bleeding through to the front.  I also used the new Illuminate Glimmer pad on the white and yellow layer on the front of the card as well as the inside of card and envelope.  I really like the look of the Glimmer pad on white.

Hope you enjoyed my card today!  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - paper chevron

Happy Friday Ladies!

I am so glad I came up to Jess' yesterday as the weather is supposed to nasty weather.  I would not want to travel in that weather.

Friday means it is our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  Our sketch today was created by Sharon Wheet.

I ran across an idea for a paper chevron technique on Marie-Josee Trudel's blog.  I was intrigued by what she did so I attempted to create it myself.  Here is my interpretation of the technique using our sketch.

Secret Garden Shaker

Hello Stampers!

I am headed to Zoie's today.  I have not seen her since New Year's so I will be getting lots of hugs and kisses while I am there.  I won't be going back until the end of March for her birthday as all my weekends are booked.  I will share pics also.

My card today was for the color challenge at Fab Friday

I also wanted to make another card using the tutorials at Stampin' Fun and Friends.   This time I used a great tutorial by Narelle for a shaker card.  It has been a while since I have made a shaker card so I was glad to have the tutorial.  Here is my creation.

Coloring Down the Lines - Regal Rose

Happy Wednesday!

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines challenge.  We are working on 2 color
Dynamic Duos from the Color Coach.

This week is all about pink since our colors were

Regal Rose and Rose Red

I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I headed to my catalog.  In perusing through it I
spotted the Flowering Flourishes set and decided to go with it.  I combined it with the
Distressed Dots background stamp.  Here is what I created

So are you ready to see what the other ladies created using this color combo?
Head on over to Carol's blog - Carol's Cards to see what she did with this

Butterfly Tri Fold Shutter card

Good Morning Everyone!

I am a member of the design team for Stampin' Fun and Friends.  This round was all about cards with moving parts and a container of some kind to hold a treat.  There were some great cards this time and I took some time to try a few of them.  My card today was one of those.  I used the tutorial by Tanya to create a Tri Fold Shutter card.

I was not certain what I was going to do so I decided the best way was to choose a color challenge as it might give me a direction.  I was so right.  I used the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary

Occ 13 Challenges-003
Once I had the card base created all I had to do was decorate the panels.  The color challenge helped a lot.  Here is what I created .

Late Night Techno - Happy Birthday!

It's Monday!!!!!!!!!

I hope you all had a great weekend.  I spent yesterday ironing - I hate ironing but I have to do it.  So to reward myself I spent some time in my craft room.  I made some cards to post later this week.

My card this week started with the sketch challenge at Monday Lunch Time Sketch Challenge

The challenge at Late Night Stampers this week is to make a Birthday card.   I don't often need many birthday cards so this was a real challenge.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch combined with the birthday challenge.

So will you be joining us this week?  We would love to see your birthday cards at Late Night Stampers.  Then make sure you use our sketch and play along with us at Monday Lunch Time Sketch Challenge.

The Easter workshop card

Happy Sunday!

Quick post today.

My card today is the Easter card that my hostess wanted for your workshop.  I began with the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

When I saw this sketch I was immediately drawn to it for some reason.  I thought it would be a good one for an Easter card.  Here is what I created.

I did a lot of blender pen coloring on this card.  I really like using the blender pen to color with.  If you have not tried this you should.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

A workshop birthday card

Hello Stampers!

Do you have some fun plans for the weekend?  It is supposed to get cold here again so I will spend time working on my swaps and cards for this week.  What will you do to exercise your creativity?

My card today is for a workshop I have coming up.  The hostess wanted an Easter card and a birthday card.  I thought I would begin with a sketch challenge so I used the one at Create with Connie and Mary

2013 Thursday Challenges-002

I thought this was clean and simple design that would be perfect for a birthday card.  I love the cupcake from Easy Events and thought it would great for the card.  Here is what I created.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I had fun making it.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday

Happy Friday Stampers!

What are your plans for today?  I am having a play date today.  I have 3 other demo friends coming over.  We are going to talk about the Baltimore Regional and then spend some time playing with our projects.  I am looking forward to it as it will be fun to have someone to stamp with and bounce ideas off.

Friday means it is Sketch Frenzy Friday .  Our sketch this week was created by ME!

I had fun with the banner on this one.   I actually used ribbon and folded it like a banner.  I also used a color combo that I was not sure about but I really liked when the card was finished.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other design team members created for the challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Not what I had planned

Hello Ladies!

I had hoped to share my last Valentine with you that I made using a sketch challenge.  When I went to do this post last night, I could not find the photo anywhere so the only thing I can think of is that I did not take a picture before I sent it off.  Bummer as it was cute.

Instead I will share the cards we will make at the retirement village ladies later this month.  The first is a St. Patrick's day card.  I used the retired set Inspired by nature to stamp the grass.  I then punched the shamrock using the heart punch.  I folded it in half and sponged the center and edges.  The little Leprechaun is from the retired set Pinch Proof.  Here is the card they will make.

The next one uses the retired set Fast and Fabulous.  I did use paper I had that was not SU.  I had this paper long before I was a demo.  Here is the second card.

The last card also uses non SU paper but I did use the Blooming with Kindness stamp and a sentiment that is retired and cannot remember the name of the set.

I hope you enjoyed my cards even though it was not what I had planned.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Tangarine Tango

Good Morning!!!!!!

It's Wednesday and that means the week is half over and the weekend is right around the corner.  I have a workshop this weekend and will also spend some time playing in my craft room as well as knitting on a few of my many projects.

Wednesday is our Coloring Down the Lines challenge day.  Our challenge this week was to use

 Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze

I have to admit these are 2 colors I don't use very often.  I could not figure out what I was going to do but after thinking about it a little bit I knew I could use a flower set.  I pulled out my Field Flowers set.  I was watching a video this past weekend and the lady in the video stamped her flowers opposite of mine.  I liked the look and then wondered if I have been stamping the stem wrong.  How about you?  Do you stamp them this way or opposite?  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Now it is time to hop on down the line to see what the other ladies created.  I got an e-mail from Amanda late last night.  She is very sick so your next stop is  Carol at Carol's Cards.  I am sure you will love what she did with the color challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge

Hello Stampers!

Are you ready for a fun color challenge this week?  We have a great combination and would love to have you play with us.  Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is all about pink and red.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this but I thought it would be fun to use the poppies stamp.  I decided to use the colors from the challenge to color the poppies.  After they were colored, I thought it would be fun to add some butterflies.  Here is my creation.
