Hand Stamped Sentiments - Hello Hearts

Hello Ladies!

Well this is the last day of 2013.  How are you planning on spending it?  My plans are to spend most of the day in my craft room.  I want to work on some cards for my blog, my Chat & Challenge card for Friday, as well as some projects for the Stamp Academy's next session.  It will be a fun day!

Today is the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This time we have a photo inspiration challenge.

When I saw this photo I was immediately drawn to the color of the birds.  It reminded me of Melon Mambo.  I went with that color along with Crumb Cake.  The next thing I noticed was the shape of the birds was a heart so I decided to add lots of hearts.  Here is what I created for this challenge.

inside of card and envelope

So what would you do with this photo challenge?  Would you create using the color, or the shape, or something else?  We would love to have you join us this week.  Create a card and add it to the blog.

If you need some inspiration, check out what the other designers created for the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I hope you enjoyed my creation.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno - Hearts a Flutter

Hello Stampers!

Well we are in the last few days of 2013.  I hope the year has been good for you.  It has been eventful for me as so many things in my life changed.  I think the 2 biggest is the decision not to teach classes any more.  I will still coordinate the program but not teach as it was tying me down too much.

The other big event was Zoie and her family moving in with me.  It has been fun to have her around and that was a big reason I decided not to teach any more.  I want to be able to spend time with her and help Jess out.

My card today is for the Late Night Stampers challenge.  This week our challenge was Time for Love - create a card for an Anniversary, Wedding, or your Sweetheart.

It also fits the challenge at Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge.  She gave us a great sketch this week that fit right with the Late Night Stamper challenge.

I decided to pull out some of my Hearts a Flutter framelits and the hear punch for my card.  I also used some of the Season of Style designer series paper stack for this card also. There are some designs that are perfect for Valentine's Day!  Here is what I created for both of these challenges.

Lots of ideas for this sketch.  What would you do with it?  We would love to see what you would create using it.  Make a card and play with us this week.  Thanks for visiting me today!  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Another Calendar Gift

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing the other calendar I made for a birthday gift.  The lady who received this loves bees.  I used some Barely Banana I had along with black.  I embossed the front with the honeycomb embossing folder.  I then used a variety of bee stamps as well as honeycomb stamps I had to decorate it.  Here are some pictures of the finished project.

I hope you enjoyed my share today.  Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

SUDSOL Chat and Challenge - Petite Petals

Hello Ladies!

Did you get some time to craft yesterday?  I was able to do a little while Zoie took her nap.  I was babysitting while Jess and Chris went to the Military Bowl Game.  Jess is a graduate of University of Maryland so this was a game she had to go to since it was right in our backyard.  Not a good game as Maryland got a couple of bad calls.

My card today is the one I created for the Chat and Challenge I had on Sunday.  My challenge was to use red and green.  I wanted to do something that was not Christmas so I decided to use a new set that has a matching.  I wanted an elegant ribbon so I used some reinker spritz and dyed my ribbon red for my card.  Here is what I created for my challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  It is so pretty in person.  I am so loving the Petite Petals stamp set.  Look for it in the new mini that begins in January!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday Stampers!

Things have been busy here.  We are getting TV, internet, and phone service changed over to accommodate 3 people on the internet at the same time.  We have the phone and internet set up.  TV still needs some work as I am going to have the guy who wired my house to come over and set up my TV's downstairs.  The guys who come to set up the system never seem to understand how to do it so all my TV's work.  Right now I only have the TV in the sunroom.  Hopefully I can get my TV's back soon.

Today is our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  This will also be my last challenge with the team.  I have enjoyed my time with them but feel they need to off someone else the chance to join the team.  Our sketch this week was designed by Jennifer Weide.

This was a clean design and I decided to keep my card clean also.  I did not want to use a flower for the 3 middle elements and did not want to use snowflakes either.  I went looking in my catalog and came up with an idea.  Here is what I created for my last design team commitment.

I thought it would be fun to use butterflies since I had not used them in a while.  I hope you head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies created for this sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to visit today.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Big Shot card

Good Morning Stampers!

I hope you all got some stamping goodies for Christmas!  I asked for lots of knitting thing and I got everything I asked for.  My girls spoil me!

My card today is for Zoie.  I usually do a punch art card for her.  At convention this past summer I participated in a WOW card swap.  I got a version of this card in the swap and knew I wanted to make one for Zoie.  Here is my version of the card.

Isn't he just the cutest!  The front white flap lifts up for you to put your message inside.  Zoie loved him!

Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Pear Pizzazz

Merry Christmas!

I want to take a few minutes to wish each of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  I am so grateful that each of you visit my blog to see my creations.  I am honored you take time to visit me.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  Our colors this week were

Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, and Tempting Turquoise

                           OR

Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, and Smokey Slate

Our added piece this week was to add a Star.

When I saw the star this week I thought of Christmas but I wanted to go in a different direction.  I thought it would be fun to use the star as the center of a flower.  I decided to use the first set of colors as I have not used Tempting Turquoise in quite a while.  Here is what I created using the colors and the added piece.

inside of card and envelope

I think the star centers out of glimmer paper are perfect.  I enjoyed using these colors together.  Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see which colors she used and how she included a star.  Thanks for taking time out of your family day to visit me and see my creation.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Embossed resist Petite Petals

Happy Christmas Eve!

I hope you are taking some time to spend the last day with your family.  I know in many families Christmas Eve is just as important, if not more, than Christmas Day!  I hope whichever day is the big one for your family I hope you have a wonderful day!

My card today is for the Choose your Favorite Challenge at Technique Time Tuesday.  We could choose any technique from the ones used this past year.  There were some great techniques to choose from.  My favorite one was the emboss resist.  I love using this technique and blending colors.  That is what I did with my card.  I did do it a little different than what you would expect from an emboss resist card.  I first had to choose my colors.  I ended up using Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, and Wild Wasabi.  I love how the colors go together.  Here is the card I created for this challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to check out my creation.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Techno Stamper - Watercolor

Good Morning everyone!

Well only 2 days left until Christmas!  Is your last minute list long like mine?  I still have a lot to get done but my philosophy is what gets done gets done and no worrying about the rest.  Great philosophy to have at this time of year.

My card today is for the sketch challenge at Mary Jo's Techno Stamper

I decided to use some of the new ds paper in the upcoming Occasions Mini.  I also decided to flip the sketch as I wanted to use a new stamp set in the mini also.  That means I have some sneak peeks for you!  Here is my creation.

Isn't that paper so soft and subtle?  I love the soft look of it.

Want to see what the rest of the design team created?  Head on over to the Techno Stamper blog and check them out.  So are you going to take some time and play along with us?  We would love for you to join us!

Calendar idea

Hello Stampers!

Our weather was gorgeous yesterday.  At 9:00 at night it was 70 degrees.  Crazy weather for this time of year.  On Christmas Day they say it will be back to 39 degrees.  How about in your area?  Will you have a white Christmas?

My share today is one of 2 versions of a Pocket Calendar I made.  I bought the tutorial that Donna of Butternut Sage Designs had for sale in her store.  It was easy to follow and her directions were fabulous.

The first one I made was for my coworker.  She loves green so I used some Mellow Moss which retired several years ago.

I hope you enjoyed my share today.  I am hoping to get my mailbox changed today before the rain hits.  Then I am going to spend a lot of time in my craft room.

Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

A gift idea

Hello Ladies!

I have been busy the past few days making some last minutes Christmas gifts.  The first one I am sharing with you is one I made for my co-worker.  A few years ago I gave her a set of cards where the sentiment was stamped on a shape and she could choose the one she wants to go on each card.  She loved that idea and I thought I would make another set for her as she has commented she has used them up.

This year I went with patterned paper and embossing.  Here is what the set looked like.

I embossed the clear case which may be hard to see in the picture.  I then made 4 of each of the cards in the picture.  You can barely see it but a few of the sentiments are at the very bottom.  I put sticky tape on the back and all she has to do is pick the one sentiment she wants and peal the backing off and stick it on the card.

This is a great gift idea and fun to make.

Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Merry!

Hello Ladies!

I am so glad it is Friday!  The weather is going to be gorgeous this weekend.  I have to change my mailbox as the door rusted off on one side.  I would much rather do this in good weather than in bad.  Wish me luck as I have to use my electric drill!

Today is our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Deb Currier

I decided to keep my card simple and use some of my paper that will retire in a few days.  Here is what I created using the sketch.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Do you have any paper that will retire soon?  Pull it out and use it for this sketch.  We would love to see what you created using our sketch.

Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Santa

Hello Everyone!

Thursday is my day to share with you my punch art for Zoie.  She loved the reindeer card from last week.

This week I decided to go with Santa.  In our area the local volunteer fire department drives through the neighborhoods at night with Santa on the back of the firetruck.  She was scared of Santa and wouldn't go near it.  I decided to make a Santa card for her.

I went looking on Pinterest and found one by Alexandra Bleicher.  She has a really cute one with directions here.  Here is my version of her Santa.

I used the Magic Envelope idea again as it is an easy one for Zoie to open.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  It was a fairly quick punch art.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Marina Mist

Good Morning!

Well all my classes are over and now I have all the grading to do.  I have 2 classes almost completed so then I can work on the last one.  I am hoping to get them done by Friday so I can get back to my crafting.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the first stop.  This week our colors were

Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, and Cajun Craze

                               OR

Marina Mist, Real Red, and Old Olive.  Our added piece was to use a holiday spirit sentiment.

I decided to use the second color combo.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Kaleidoscope Happy

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are one of the lucky ones who has avoided all the snow lately.  While I was glad I did not get the 50 inches some places got I would have liked some rather than all the rain we got.  Maybe we will be lucky and get some next week so we have a White Christmas.

Speaking of White Christmas I have not watched that movie this year.  It is one of my all time favorites.  I think I will be taking some time this weekend to watch it.  What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Today is our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This week we have a sketch challenge.

I had another helper on this card.  She is just adorable.  When I showed her the finished card she looked at and with awe said "Beautiful".  She is so dramatic and her vocabulary is amazing.  The neat thing about it is she uses words in the correct context.  Can you tell I am a proud Grandma?

I ordered some gorgeous paper from the Occasions Mini.  I just love the Kaleidoscope ds paper.  Those colors with the black really pops to me.  I just had to use it for this sketch.  Here is what I created with this fabulous paper and the sketch.

So would you like to play along with us?  We would love to see what you could do with our sketch.  Make a card and play along with us.  You can see all the rest of the design team's creations at the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog.

Late Night Techno - Retro Secret

Happy Monday Stampers!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I was finally able to relax a little before I begin another busy week.

This week our challenge at Late Night Stampers is to create a quick & Easy but NOT Plain Jane card!  We were to use 3 layers, 2 embellishments, 15 min or less!

I combined it with the sketch challenge at Mary Jo's Techno Stamper.

Well I was so excited as I did my card very quickly but in posting this I realized I only have 1 embellishment.  Oh well it will have to do.

I had a little helper to make my card.  Zoie helped me stamp and attach the pieces so if something is a little crooked, you will understand as she was very anxious.  Here are some pics of her helping me.  Ignore my attire as we were busy organizing today.

I used some of the new designer series paper in the upcoming Occasions Mini.  I paired it with some old favorites.  And here is the final card we made.

We would love to have you play along.  Head on over to the Late Night Stampers blog and play along with us.

If you want to use the sketch challenge at Techno Stamper like I did, it would be great if you would play along with us.

Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Another Best of Snow

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you had a good day yesterday.  It was dreary all day and then it started raining late in the afternoon.  It ended up raining all afternoon.  At times there was sleet mixed in.  It was a nasty dreary day.  Perfect day for crafting.

Have you ever started out with an idea and then ended up with something entirely not what you had planned.  When I started this card I wanted to use Marina Mist.  I colored my snowman in and used Gumball Green for his hat and scarf as a compliment.  When I went to put the card together I looked at the green an grabbed it.  Not what I had planned.  Did not realize my mistake until my entire card was put together.  Had to go with it.

I started with the sketch at Fab Friday.

When I saw this sketch I knew the Best of Snow set would be perfect for the center circle.  I stamped the snowman and punched him out.  Can you tell I am in love with this little snowman?  I don't think I will ever get tired of using him.  Here is my creation for today.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Happy Snowman

Hello Stampers!

I got some time to play yesterday.  It felt so good as I had not played in quite a while with my busy schedule.  I actually made 5 different cards - 3 for my retirement village ladies on Tuesday and 2 to post each day this weekend.

The first card I made used a sketch from SUDSOL.  This week we had a simple sketch challenge.

I thought the Best of Snow would be a great  for this sketch.  The sketch is also a square.  I don't normally do square cards so I made mine a rectangle.  I love the little snowman in this set.  He is just so happy!  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I love the color combination and the simplicity of the card.  Do you have this set?  You definitely need to play with it as it is so much fun.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Happy

Happy Friday Stampers!

I don't know about you but I am so ready for the weekend!  I have been so busy lately that I have not had a chance to do much crafting.  This will be a major crafting weekend for me as I have some commitments to work on.

Today is our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Tammy Fite.

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of washi tape for the 2 horizontal elements.  I decided to go with that idea and use some of the new washi tape in the upcoming Occasions Mini.  I also decided to use a new set from the same mini.  This ended up being a very quick and easy single layer card that would be easy to mail.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

This was an easy card to do.  I love this new set.  That poppy flower is perfect for a simple card.  Make sure you stop by the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies have created using this sketch.

Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - reindeer

Good Morning!

Quick post.  Should be in bed as I have class tomorrow and need to get up very early.

My card today is a CASE from someone on Splitcoast Stampers.  I loved her card and thought Zoie would too.  Here is my version of her card.

I could not do the inside  or envelope as Jess and Zoie had gone to bed.  I will add the reindeer with the beautiful swirly antlers from a few years ago.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Calypso Coral

Happy Cold Wednesday Ladies!

Well I know most of the country is in a deep freeze right now.  We are in the deep freeze but no snow.  We had rain yesterday and no snow.  They even cancelled school here on the premise we were going to get sleet.  The kids enjoyed a day off to play!

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week we were to use

Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, and Pink Pirouette

                                            OR

Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, and Wild Wasabi
Our added piece this week was to add a snowflake.

When I saw this I knew what I wanted to do.  I decided to use the second set of colors.  I went into my craft room to get my Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  I searched high and low and could not find it.  I did have the pine tree from the set as I had used it in my workshop last week.  After search for an hour and a half I decided to revamp what I wanted to do and get creating.

I decided to use some of my goodies from the new Occasions Mini.  I had ordered the Scallop Tag Topper punch and knew the pine tree would fit on it so I punched one out and created my card.  Here is my final creation.

inside of card and envelope

Are you ready to see what the other ladies did with this color challenge?  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with the color combination and how she added snowflakes.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!
