Happy Watercolor workshop card

Good Morning!  It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have some fun plans for the weekend?  It is supposed to be a little warmer here this weekend.  Then again on Monday more precipitation.  Not sure if it will be snow or rain.!

I realized the other day that my workshop is next week.  I also needed to get my cards made for the workshop.  I set out looking for sketch challenges to use.

The first card was created using a fun sketch I had to try at The Paper Players

There was something about this sketch that I knew I had to use for one of my workshop cards.  I wanted to use some items from the new Occasions mini or the Sale-a-bration brochure.  This one uses a stamp set, silver Baker's Twine, and the new scallop tag punch.  Here is one of the cards the ladies will make.

I inked the flower with Marina Mist then added some Midnight Muse on the edges.  I love this color combination.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Snowman

Hello Stampers!

Well Mother Nature did it again.  She dumped about 4 inches on us Tuesday night.  It was beautiful this morning but still very cold.  I was outside shoveling my driveway and 2 guys came by and asked if I wanted them to shovel my driveway.  Well I was not looking forward to shoveling the whole lane all the way out to the main lane in.  I paid them to shovel it.  With the sun the lane and my driveway are dry and ice free.  My son-in-law has a small sports car that does not do well in the snow.  He had to park down near the end the main road so he could get to work this morning.  Tonight he was able to park up near the house.  It was well worth the money.

Today is my punch art for Zoie.  I thought it was a good idea to make a snowman with all the snow we had.  I found a cute snowman candy holder that used the envelope punch board made by Lynn Starlz.  I knew I had to make it for the front of my card.  The direction made one that was a little larger than 5 1/2 inches so after I had it completed I cut it down to fit on my card.

Zoie loves pink so I decided to make a pink background.  I added some snowflakes so they are pink snowflakes.  I think that is better than yellow snowflakes.  hahahaha  Here is my finished card.

inside of card and envelope

Isn't this the cutest little snowman. He makes a cute treat holder also.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my card inspired you to try some punch art.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Wild Wasabi

Happy Midweek Ladies!

Well I am halfway through the week and have been able to get a few observations in.  Today I am scheduled to have a few midpoint evaluations.  Hopefully I can get the rest completed by the end of the week.

Our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop is today.  I am the start of the hop.  This week we were to use

Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Perfect Plum

                            OR

Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Early Espresso

Our added Piece this week was to use a punch.

I decided to try another sketch challenge and found a fun one at Create with Connie and Mary.

 Spring14-01

I decided to try another ATC with this sketch.  I am enjoying making them for a change from cards.  Here is what I created.

I love how this turned out.  I really like using a half circle as a holder for the ribbon.  The advantage of doing an ATC is you can use the 1/8 inch ribbon and the new Petite Petals stamp set.

Are you ready to see which colors the other ladies used?  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with our challenge this week.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Have you tried an ATC yet?  You should see what you can come up with.  They are fun to do but also addicting.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - ATC

Good Morning Stampers!

I have a very busy week this week.  I had observations scheduled last week with midpoint evaluations scheduled for this week.  Well schools were closed all last week so now I have to do my observations this week as well as the evaluations.  I hope I can find some time to play a little.

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a sketch challenge.  Erin gave us a fun one.

I wanted a break from making cards so I decided to make an ATC using this sketch.  An ATC is an Artistic Trading Card.  These little gems are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".  Artisits use them to showcase their talent in a small size.  I love these ideas as  they are so easy to turn into a card also.  Here is what I created using this sketch.

So what do you think of my ATC?  I think it is so cute!  We would love to have you play along.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my ATC has inspired you to try one of your own.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno - Hello You!

Happy Monday Everyone!

We are starting a new week.  Last week schools were closed here all week.  We has some snow and with the temperatures the snow turned to ice and it was too cold for the salt to melt it.  Many of our back roads were still ice covered on Saturday.  Hopefully we won't get some for a while so the temperature can rise and melt what we have.

Today our challenge at Late Night Stampers is to use a framelit or die on your project.  I have several framelits so I decided to play with one of those.

Mary Jo at Technostamper had a sketch that was perfect for the framelit challenge.

I decided to play with my SAB paper - Sweet Sorbet.   I love this paper!  Isn't it great that you can place a $50 order and get it free!  I am hoping to get a few more packs to play with.  Here is what I created using the challenge and the sketch.

inside of card and envelope

Both of these challenges are so easy to do.  You should play along with us.  If you want to see the Late Night Stampers challenge you can find it HERE.  We would love to see which framelits or dies you would use.

We would also love to have you play along with us at Technostamper.  The rest of the member have some great samples for you HERE.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I hope my card inspired you to play with us.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Chat and Challenge card

Hello Everyone!

Are you staying warm?  The wind was really blowing here yesterday and it was very cold.  It was a perfect day to stay inside and stamp.  I spent some time in my craft room cleaning it out.  I am getting ready to add some cabinets so I have to consolidate and get rid of stuff.  I have worked on 2 areas so now I need to tackle another area.

Later today I am hosting a Chat and Challenge at SUDSOL.  My challenge was to make a card using the colors of the team you want to win the Super Bowl.  I really don't care which team wins but my preference is for the Seattle Seahawks as I don't want Denver to win again.  With that I used Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Silver, and Whisper White for my card.  With those colors I wanted to try and make a masculine card.

I felt with these colors I needed a sketch to help out.  I went looking and found one at Clean & Simple Stamping that I thought would work perfectly.

Now I just needed to find my stamps to use and get busy.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

This card has a lot of punched items used on it.  It is fairly easy to make also.  There are lots of color combos you can use to make it masculine.

How about you, which team do you want to win?  Make a card using those colors and share it with me.  I would love to see it.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Clean and Simple Happy Day

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have a fun filled day today.  I am meeting an instructor to go over Blackboard and then I am coming home to work some more in my craft room.  I took some time yesterday to clean up my room.  I made some progress and I even cleaned off my desk so I could actually stamp on it.  I plan on cleaning up one of my cabinets as my daughter wants it to put her dvd's, x box, and cable box in it.

My card today is for the SUDSOL Chat and Challenge that was held last week.

C_C2014JAN21.jpg

I loved the simplicity of the sketch so I decided to play along.  I kept my card clean and simple like the sketch.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

So what did you think of my card today?  This would be a great card to mass produce and you could use different colors.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my card has inspired you to make a clean and simple card of your own.  Have a Super Saturday!

SUDSOL CASE Challenge card #2

Happy Friday!

I am glad the weekend is here.  I need some time to relax and play.  I am hoping to make some videos also.

Over on SUDSOL last week we have a CASE challenge of a card in our Stampin' Success.

I used this card earlier with the Swallowtail as the background.  I decided to try it again and use the Chevron background.  I used a marker to add some color to random lines.  I also used 2 small scallop circles to make my flower.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

To make the inside and envelope I used the negative to sponge on some color.  Have you tried CASEing this card yet?  It is easy to do.  Would love to see your version.  Thanks for visiting me today.  Hope my card inspired you.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Snowman

Hello Stampers!

Well Zoie had a fun time in the snow yesterday.  She went out a couple of times.  We had to do several short times as it was just too cold.  She made some snow angels and tried to make a snowman but the snow is powdery so not good for that.  I am sure she will do the same tomorrow.

Today is my punch art share.  I found a great card on Pinterest.  It did not have a creator and the link took you to Flicker so I can't give credit to the originator.  It was just too cute not to make my own version.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

With the snow we got the other day I had to make her a snowman card.  I am sure she will enjoy it.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my card has inspired you to make your own punch art creation.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Soft Sky

Hello Stampers!

Well the snow was a big disappointment for us.  It did not start snowing until around 1:30.  Then the flakes were tiny pellets.  At about 6 last night the grass was barely covered.  I really wanted the 6 - 8 inches they were calling for.  The wind blew quite a bit so the snow was actually coming down sideways.  Oh well maybe the next storm will be better.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.  This week our color choices were

Soft Sky, Real Red, Garden Green

                     OR
Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride
Our added Piece this week was to have an embossed piece.

I went looking for a sketch and found one at Clean & Simple

I thought it would be fun to use tiny flowers for the circles on the background.  The creator of the sketch was planning on using sequins as her circle elements.   I used the second set of colors and I think it makes a very pretty spring card.  Here is my creation for our hop.

inside of card and envelope

Are you ready to see what the other ladies did with our color challenge?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see how she used the colors with the embossed piece.  I am sure she did a fabulous job.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will take some time to play today.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Another Take Ten card

Good morning!

Well we are supposed to get some snow today.  The news last night said we could get from 4 - 6 inches.  They were even predicting we could get almost 7 inches.  Jess ordered Zoie some rubber boots.  We are hoping they come in today so she can play in the snow.  I will definitely have to get some pics to share.

My card today is another one inspired from a card in the Take Ten magazine.  I saw a card that had a water color look to it and I tried to recreate it.  I have to say that I don't think I spritzed my card with water enough to get the look I was trying to achieve.  The one in the magazine had some pretty watercolor flowers.  Here is my version.

inside of card and envelope

So what do you think of this card?  It really was a quick card.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my card inspired you to make one of your own.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

House of Cards - First Challenge

SECOND POST ~ SCROLL DOWN FOR THE FIRST

Hello Ladies!

I have a new design team I have joined.  I have played along with the Technique Time Tuesday challenges for a while.  Mynnette asked me if I would try out for the House of Cards design team.  I was excited when they asked me to join as a designer for 6 months.

This challenge blog has it's design team divided into 4 categories - Cute and Fun, Clean and Simple, Classic and Elegant, and Shabby and Vintage.

Today I want to share my first design team commitment for House of Cards.  This month is a sketch  challenge.

When Mynnette asked me to consider applying for the design team she thought I fit into the Clean and Simple category.  I have never thought of myself as Clean and Simple but I did my best on my card today.  Here is what I created for this challenge.

We would love to have you play along with us.  Make sure you check out the other designers cards at the House of Cards blog.  We would love to have you play along with us.

Hope you have a Great Day!

Techno Stamper Medallions

Happy Monday Ladies!

I bet some of you are glad you have the day off.  I do not but I am working from home.  I am having one of my windows replaced as the seal on it failed and it is no longer thermopane.  Good thing it is not going to be the temperature today they are predicting for tomorrow.

Mary Jo of Technostamper has a great sketch for us this week.

I did not want to use a heart as the main image so I had to go looking at my stamps to see what I could do.  I realized I had not used my Daydream Medallions in a while so I decided to use those.  I came up with this color combination as I have quite a bit of the 2012 In Colors so I need to use them before they retire later this year.  Here is what I created using the sketch.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  You should head on over to Mary Jo's blog to see what the other ladies created using this sketch.  We would love to have you join us this week.

Thanks for visiting me today!  Have a Marvelous Monday!

A New Challenge Blog

Good Morning Ladies!

I was reading another lady's blog and she mentioned a few new challenge sites I was not familiar with.  I went to check them out.  One of them that I checked out I really liked the challenge so I decided to play along.

I don't know if you have seen them on other blogs but the current rage is the card in a box.  I have been wanting to make one of these and since the challenge I was doing was a color challenge I decided to make one.

The new challenge site is know as The Card Concept.  This week was a color challenge.

I loved these colors so I decided that I had to play along.  As part of the challenge we have to describe the style of our card.  There were 6 to choose from.
  • Clean & Simple (CAS)
  • Clean & Layered
  • Clean & Graphic
  • Freestyle Collage
  • Shabby Chic
  • Classy & Elegant
They explained on the blog the different styles.  After reading the styles, I believe my style on this card and Clean and Layered - clean lines, lots of layers, designer papers/embossing, embellishments/accents, clean and fresh looking, some colored images at times, white space. The only point that does not fit is the white space.  Here is what I created for this challenge.

View of the box from the top

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I loved making it.  Head on over to the challenge blog and check out what the other participants created.  There are some great cards there.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Take Ten - Soho

Hello Everyone!

Well yesterday was a fun day.  I had Zoie while Jess meet the movers at her storage unit.  While she was gone Zoie and I make some paper heart strings.  We made 4 of them and then hung them up on the door to her mom and dad's bedroom.  She was so excited when her mom got home and she could show her the surprise.  We had glue everywhere but she had fun!

My card today is another Take Ten CASE.  I saw a card that used patterned paper and a simple strip with a sentiment and a flower.  I went looking through my paper and found this paper that I decided to use.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I wasn't certain what I was going to do with this paper when I saw it.  I have to admit that this is a very nice card and I like the way this paper looks on this card.  What do you think?

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you are inspired by my card to try one of your own.  If you do make sure you share it with me as I'd love to see your version.  Have a Super Saturday!

Take Ten - butterfly

Happy Friday Everyone!

Do you have some fun plans for the weekend?  I missed the weather last night but I think we are going to have a wintry mix off and on this weekend.  I did catch that next week we are going to get bitter cold again.  Not what I like to hear.

My card today was inspired by the Take Ten magazine.  This is a magazine of all cards that can be created in 10 minutes or less.  This card fits the bill.  I made this card really quick but it is a great card.

The card in the magazine had a swirl at the bottom and then a swirled image behind a punched butterfly.  I pulled out my Stampin' Up sets that I could make work.  I also used the same color combo that they used.  Here is my version of their card.

inside of card and envelope

If you have not seen this magazine you should check it out.  It is not like the other papercrafting magazines.  I stopped my subscriptions to those as they seemed to be filled with ads more than anything else.  Not true with this one.  It is more expensive but you can easily recreate the cards in this one.  I bought one copy to see if it was worth the money and it is.  I will be getting the subscription to this one for at least a year to see if I use it enough.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my card inspired you to try making a card in 10 minutes or less.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's punch art - polar bears

Hello Ladies!

I hope you all are looking forward to the weekend like I am.  I am hoping to get some serious crafting in this weekend.  I have a lot to do.

My card today is for Zoie.  It is my weekly punch art.  I saw this card on Pinterest and knew I had to make it for her.  I changed the colors for mine but most of the rest of mine is the same as hers.  Here is my version.

inside of card and envelope

So what do you think of my card for Zoie?  I am sure she will like this one as she likes it when there is a mommy and a baby.  I made a card like this a few years ago but at that time Zoie did not exist.  Now she has one for herself.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card and will try one of your own.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - So Saffron

Happy Wednesday Stampers!

What is on your agenda for today?  I have to make my cards for the  retirement village groups - can't say ladies anymore as I have a gentleman who has joined us.  I also have to make my punch art for Zoie this week.  I will be a busy stamper this afternoon!

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were

So Saffron, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi

                          OR

So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray
Our added piece this week was to use a tag.

I love the fact that we were to use a tag.  I got both of the tag punches in the current mini.  I have to admit I have not used the regular tag punch but have used the scallop tag punch several times.  I also used this punch on my card today.

I decided to use the second set of colors.  Jess' favorite color combo is gray and yellow and she has not been feeling well so I thought I would make a card for her.  I used the 7/8 inch scallop circle and petite petals punches to make my flowers.

After I had my tag made I decided to use the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder for the background.  You can only see some of it in the picture.  I tied my ribbon with the new silver baker's twine in the current mini.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

Are you ready to see what colors the other ladies used?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see which colors she used and the card she created.  Thanks for visiting me today.  Hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Dahlias

Hello Stampers!

I hope you all had a good day yesterday and found some time to play.  I began a project that will be for all my customers as well as made a card.

My card today is for the color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments

These colors were quite a challenge for me.  I was not certain how I was going to use them.  I didn't even know what I wanted to do.  I decided to try using the Regarding Dahlia's stamp set.  After I had stamped the images, I decided to add a circle of the colored cardstock behind the stamped image.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

So what do you think of this card?  It is hard to tell but I used the Stylish Stripes on the background.  So would you like to see how the other design team members used these colors?  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog  to see what the other ladies created using these colors.  Then grab these colors and create a project to share with us.  We would love to see what you would do with them.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno - New

Happy Monday Ladies!

I have to apologize about my post yesterday.  Not sure what happened as I had it scheduled but it did not post for some reason.  I hope today's will be okay.

Today is the challenge at Late Night Stampers.  This week with the New Year we are focusing on new things.  Our challenge this week is Something New -- make a card, scrapbook layout, or 3D project to celebrate something new (wedding, baby, home,etc.).  I really don't need a wedding card or baby card so I decided to go with new home.

Mary Jo at Technostamper gave us a fun sketch this week that I thought would be a great one for my card.

As I was thinking about this challenge I thought I remember a stamp in the For the Birds set that I could use for the Something New idea.  When I looked at the set I did not find what I thought I remembered.  I did however find a cute bird in a nest that I felt I could use.  Here is what I created for the challenges.

inside of card and envelope

I thought I could hand write inside a sentiment like "Congratulations on your new nest!".  If you don't always have a stamp that fits the challenge see what you have you can use.

If you want to play along with our "Something New" challenge make sure you check out the design team cards and then add yours at the Late Night Stampers blog.

If you choose to play with Mary Jo's sketch challenge check out her Technostamper blog to see what the design team created and then add your card.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I hope my card inspired you to try something new.  Have a Marvelous Monday!
