Too Much Happy

Good Morning Stampers!

I am hoping to take some time today and play with some new techniques.  I love to pull out my supplies and play with them to create backgrounds or new cards.  I just got some new stencils and dies so I am hoping to play with them not to mention some craft metal sheets.  Cathy did an awesome job with the metal sheets that I am planning on CASEing with my own twist.

My card today is for the SUDSOL design challenge.  This week we were to use some of the Sweet Sorbet ds paper from Sale-a-bration.  I love this paper and love playing with it.  I am hoping we have some paper similar to this in the new catalog.  I used the SUDSOL sketch challenge from an earlier card for the layout.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I used the dot stamp from Happy Watercolor and inked it up with markers.  I stamped this down the side of the envelope to mimic the dots on the ds paper.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you take some time today to be creative.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - chickadee

Hello Stampers!

We had a beautiful snowfall yesterday.  I love seeing the snow on the trees and coating them with white.  That is what our snowfall was like yesterday.  It did not stick on the roads so driving was fine.  It was so beautiful!

My card today is a punch art card for Zoie.  I thought I would do another one of the birds that visit our bird feeder.  I chose to do the chickadee.  They are the cutest little birds.  Zoie is getting very good at recognizing some of them that come all the time.

To make my bird, I saw some birds on Ellen Kemper's blog and used her pictures as well as some pictures of chickadees I found on the internet.  I think I did a pretty good job with this one.  What do you think?  Here is my creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I need to take some pictures of cards Zoie had stamped and share them with you.  She is into the collage look!  lol  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Primrose Petals

Good Morning Stampers!

What are you plans for today?  I hope they include some time to craft.  I have a workshop tonight so I spent yesterday making the last of my cards for my upcoming classes.  I wanted the ladies to see the regular workshop cards we will make as well as the cards we will make for a stamp set class I am planning.  I will take today and cut paper and set up for my class tonight.

Today is our blog hop.  I am the start of the hope.  This week our color choices were

Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Basic Gray

                  OR

Primrose Petals, So Saffron, Marina Mist

The added piece this week was to add scoring.

I found a great sketch at Create with Connie and Mary that I knew I could use for my card.

I decided to use this challenge as one of the cards the ladies will make next week at my workshop.  I am hoping they will love the scoring also.  Here is my creation.

close up of scoring on front of card

I had a hard time getting a picture of the scoring.  Not easy on white, maybe I should have used a different color.

Want to see what the rest of the ladies created with these colors and some scoring?  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate  to see what she created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  We hope you enjoy our blog hop and see lots of scoring ideas.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - For the Birds

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope you have some fun plans for today.  I have ton of errands to run but I am hoping to get them done and back home to finish up some cards for upcoming classes.  Not sure it will work out that way but I am going to try.

My card today is for the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I created the sketch for this week.

I actually used a version of this for a sketch for a scrapbook page.  I created the page in My Digital Studio and plan on recreating the page using paper and photos.  I thought it would be fun to see what I could do with it on a card.  Here is what I created.

We would love for you join us this week.  What can you do with this sketch?  Make your card and share it with us on our Hand Stamped Sentiments blog.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Make sure you head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other design team members created.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno Punch Art - In Like a Lion

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well it is the beginning of a new week.  I am hoping this week is a quiet one.  How about you?  Right now I do not have anything planned but things can change quickly when you live with a 2 year old.

My card today began with the challenge at Late Night Stampers.  Our challenge this week is to create a punch art card.  I decided I wanted to create a card as to how I am hoping March comes in as.  I am hoping it comes in as a Lion with some wind.  We really need to dry out our ground a little.  I know that sounds crazy but with all the snow and rain we have had it would be nice to not have mud!

I combined it with the sketch challenge Mary Jo at Technostamper has for us this week.

It was a real challenge to use this sketch and include punch art with it.  The circle element I thought would be good for the lion's face.  I decided to add some washi tape for the vertical strips in the back.  Here is how I interpreted both of the challenges.

It was fun doing a punch art card for a sketch.  The Late Night Stampers design team would love to have you visit the blog to see what we created.  Then consider playing along with us.

If you like sketch challenges then you want to head on over to Mary Jo's Technostamper blog to see the samples we created for the challenge.  Then grab your supplies and play along with us.  We would love to see what you created using the sketch.

Thanks for visiting me today.  How do you want March to come in - like a lion or a lamb?  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Kaleidoscope Pinwheels

Good Morning!

Well Jess and I basically slept most of the day (she slept more than I did) but we were both lazy all day.  I did make the card I am sharing with you today.

Twice a month I host a chat and challenge at SUDSOL.  I get to choose the challenge.  I am hosting a chat today and I thought it would be fun to think about whether March will come in like a lion or lamb.  Since there is usually wind involved if it comes in like a lion I thought it would be fun to make a card that has something to do with wind.  They could do clouds, pinwheels, windmills, etc.  Anything was acceptable.  I decided to go with the pinwheel idea.  I made my pinwheels using patterned paper.

I wasn't sure how I was going to do the layout so I went looking for a sketch.  I found one I could use at Clean & Simple

I made 3 different sized pinwheels to go with the 3 different sized hearts.  I love the Kaleidoscope designer series paper so I used it to make my pinwheels.  Here is my creation.

Well the Olympics are winding down but NASCAR is starting up so I will be watching the races on the weekend.  I am also behind on my Downton Abby so I need to get caught up with those shows.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Do you think March will come in like a lion or a lamb?  Have a Sensational Sunday!

SUDSOL technique challenge - Waterspray

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I am on my way to the airport to pick up Jess.  My sister was supposed to get her so I did not have to bring Zoie out so early, but my sister got sick.  I am sure Zoie and her dad will be glad when she gets home.  I know her dog has missed her a lot.

My card today is for the technique challenge at SUDSOL.  I first saw this technique on Marie-Josee's blog.  She created a beautiful background and I have loved playing with it when I can.  I love the watercolor effect you get when you do this.  Here is what I created for the challenge.

inside of card and envelope

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  What is your favorite technique?  I would love to have you share a card you have created using it with me.  Have a Super Saturday!

Paper Chevron

Hello Ladies!

Well yesterday was not what I expected.  Zoie decided to play daredevil and climb up a mirror leaning against her bed.  Needless to say she put her foot through the mirror and cut her big toe.  I was not certain if it would need stitches or if there was glass in it.  I had to make the dreaded call to dad (mom is out of town until this weekend).  He had to leave work and take her to the clinic on the base.  She did not leave stitches.  They glued it together and put a butterfly bandage on it.  I guess I will be fired as the sitter.  I felt so bad.  I know this is the first of several trips to the emergency room as she is such a daredevil.

My card today is for the sketch challenge at SUDSOL.

I ran across directions for making your own paper chevron at Scrapbooks Etc.  I thought it would be fun to make one and combine it with Modern Medley ds paper.  Here is my final creation.

I like the pattern combination on the front of my card.  It was interesting making the chevron piece also.  I will have to remember it for future use.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What pattern combinations do you like?  It would fun to see them.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - rabbit

Good Morning Stampers!

Our weather was gorgeous yesterday.  We had some rain in the morning but then the temperature went up to low 50's and the sun came out.  It was a great change from the dreary days.

Today's card is Zoie's punch art.  I have bunnies in my yard and she gets upset when the dogs chase them.  I thought she might enjoy a bunny card.  I saw a cute card on Pinterest and decided to use that card for the punch art as I thought the bunny was cute and knew Zoie would love it also.  I forgot to save the name of the person who created it and I cannot find it.  I am usually very good about saving the links but I have been super busy with Zoie this week.  Here is my card for her.

inside of card and envelope

I am curious to see what she says about the rabbit.  I will let you know.

Today we are off to the library again.  They have a Wiggles and Giggles program for the kids.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will try some punch art.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Midnight Muse

Hello Ladies!

Well our weather was not bad yesterday.  It started our chilly and windy but by the afternoon the wind was gone and the temperature had risen quite a bit.  The next few days are supposed to be very nice with temperatures in the low 60's by Thursday.  I hope the weather in your area is going to be nice also.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.  This week our colors were

Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry

                                OR

Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party
Our added piece this week was to use a sketch from a challenge blog.

I went looking and found a fun simple sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

I thought this would be great to use with the first set of colors.  Since this had 8 circle elements I went looking for my punches to see what I had that was small and would work.  I thought the small butterfly punch would work perfectly.  Here is what I created using this sketch and our colors.

This sketch is perfect for a quick but WOW card.  Whomever gets will surely smile when they open the envelope.

Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what sketch she used and which colors she chose.  Thanks for visiting me today.

Take Ten Washi

Good Morning Ladies!

Yesterday Zoie and I had a fun day.  We went to the Art Studio at AnneMarie Gardens for an art class for her.  She made an Olympic torch and a gold medal.

Then in the afternoon we made foam dough from a recipe on the internet.  The foam dough did not turn out like it should have but she had fun anyway.

If the weather cooperates today we are going to go to lunch so she can play in the play area and then pick up some supplies to make glitter slime.  I am hoping this one is not as messy as the foam dough.

Ok on to my card for today.  In my Take Ten magazine they had a card where the creator had used washi tape.  I am offering a class later this month using washi tape.  I like to have other ideas for the ladies so I decided to make a card like the one they had in the magazine.  Here is my version.

inside of card and envelope

This is a very quick card and would be great to mass produce.  I am sure it would brighten the receiver's day!

Thanks for visiting me today!  If you have any cards you have created using washi tape I would love to have you share it with me.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Too Kind Clean and Simple

Second Post, scroll down for the first post.

Today is my House of Cards design team commitment.  This month we have a photo inspiration.  We could use the colors or the photo or the both.

summer tones

I liked the colors that were used but then liked the softness of the picture.  I decided to use the colors to make my card and then add a layer of vellum overtop to achieve the softness in the picture.  I decided to use the Too Kind set as I could use the Crisp Cantaloupe and Tangerine Tango for the flower with took care of 2 of the colors.  I use Wild Wasabi for the stem.  Since I stamped it on Vary Vanilla that took care of that color.  The only color left was the gray and I used that for the flourish on the side as well as the card base.  Here is the Clean and Simple card I created for our challenge.

Sweet Sorbet Techno

Hello Everyone!

Today is our sketch challenge at Technostamper.  It is always fun to play with these sketches and you never know what you'll find.  Mary Jo at Technostamper has done it again.  She has given us a great sketch this week.

Here is my creation.

I pulled out some of my free Sale-a-bration items to use on my car.  I used some of the Sweet Sorbet ds paper as well as some of the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack.  This is a quick card and with some modifications could be used for mass production.

We would love to have you play along with us this week.  Head on over to Mary Jo's Technostamper blog to see what the other design team members created.  Then grab your supplies and join us this week!

Playing again!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have all survived the latest snow storm.  I know many of you are ready for winter to be over.  I bet many of you are sick of shoveling also.

My card today is one I made while I was playing with a new item.  About a year ago I was watching UStream broadcast and the lady mentioned she was using buckram.  For those of you who don't know what this is, it is a stiff fabric used in sewing to add stiffness and help it hold it's shape.  I went out and bought some and never used it.  I was looking through my Take Ten magazine and one of the spreads had used a fabric to make a series of cards.  I decided to pull out my buckram and try it.

I cut a larger piece than I needed and then used my spritzers to color it with Pool Party and Marina Mist.  After I let it dry I stamped it and then added some Dazzling Details.  I also pulled out some of my gauze from my medicine cabinet and colored it with Crumb Cake.  I added it to mimic netting.  Here is my final card.

Have you ever played with different materials?  I would love to hear what you used so I could try it also.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope my card inspired you to try something new.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Field Flowers Friend

Good Morning Stampers!

Well almost all of our snow is gone.  This is not true for many of the other counties in our area.  Some areas west of me got almost 24 inches.  They were supposed to get more snow last night.  I have not heard the weather so not sure what they got.

My card today is for the SUDSOL sketch challenge.

Sketch227-001.jpg

I decided to play along with this sketch and to use some of my designer series paper I had.  I pulled out a pattern I had not played with - Etcetera.  I thought it would be fun to stamp right on the patterned paper so I looked for a light colored one.  Here is what I created using this patterned paper.

Have you ever stamped on patterned paper?  You should give it a try.  Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will try stamping on patterned paper.  Have a Super Saturday!

Good As Gold Happy

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello Ladies!

Well yesterday was rather interesting weather wise.  We had about 4 inches of snow over night.  By morning it was slushy and raining.  It rained lightly all day then late in the day it started sleeting and then turned to snow again.  I guess that may be better than some areas that have over a foot of snow and then the ones down south with the ice and no electricity.  Hopefully it will be around a little bit so Zoie can play in the snow.

My card share toady was created for the SUDSOL CASE challenge.  We were to CASE the card in our Stampin' Success magazine.

The sample used note cards that are part of the Loads of Love promotion.  I decided to use the note cards that are a free item for Sale-a-bration.  The Good As Gold note cards are fun and while I did not use all of the elements that are part of the set to decorate my card there are still many things you can do to step up your card.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

Isn't this a fun card!  I love the background on these cards.  I will be creating with them some more.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I hope you will find some card kits and see how you can step them up with your own ideas.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Fox

Good Morning Ladies!

Well the snow started last night and it snowed all night.  It was a fine light snow.  The snow plows were out all night and they had pretreated the road with the salt brine.  They say we could get sleet and freezing rain today.  I hope not!  Sleet and freezing rain is not fun not to mention it could pull down our electric lines.  I am crossing my fingers that does not happen.  If there is no post tomorrow you will know I am without power.

Today is my punch art card for Zoie.  I did not know what to do at first and then ran across directions to make a fox at Avery Murphy's blog.  I decided that would be a fun one to do.  I followed her directions and it turned out very cute.  Here is my creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will give punch art a try.  There are lots of ideas and directions on the internet.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Gumball Green

Hello Stampers!

Well I hope you all have plenty of projects and supplies.  The east coast is set for a major winter storm in almost all areas.  It will be the perfect time to spend in your craft room creating!

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors and added piece were

Gumball Green, So Saffron, Melon Mambo

                              OR

Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Marina Mist

The added piece this week was to create a Clean and Simple card.  I have to admit I had chosen the second set of colors and made my card.  I realized on Monday I had missed the Late Night Stampers challenge so I had to post my card.  I then decided to make my card for today using the first set of colors.  This actually is a 1 layer card.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

So what do you think of my Clean and Simple card?  I so wish we had a fern stamp.  Are you ready to see what the other ladies created using these colors?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she created.  I am sure you will love it.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will try and play with some of these colors.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Midnight Oh Hello

Hello Stampers!

So the current forecast is watching a storm that could give us a measurable amount of snow.  It will depend on the track of the storm if we get dumped on or nothing.  I have mixed feelings about how much if any we get.

My card today is for the color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments

I was the one who chose these colors.  I decided to see what I could find in the catalog.  I decided to use the Oh Hello set. I knew I was going to made the chevron oval out of Smokey Slate.  Then I added the flower with Rose Red.   I wasn't sure how I was going to add in the Midnight Muse.  I tried the oval on white but did not like it.  I tried it on the Midnight Muse and really liked it so I decided to make it the base of my card.  Here is what I created.

Would you like to see what the other ladies on the design team created using these colors?  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will play along with us.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!
