Amazing Friend

Hello Ladies!

I had a great weekend with my friend.  We visited 2 yarn shops and bought some yarn.  We saw them dye yarn at one of the shops.  It was interesting to watch the process.  We also had a great dinner with some other ladies from the local shop here.  We came home early yesterday as it was Zoie's birthday.  Her mom and dad took her to the circus and then we met at her other grandparents house for dinner and cake.  She had a great time also.  I have some pictures on my cell phone but did not have time to transfer them to my computer.  I will do that and share them tomorrow.

My card today is for the sketch challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.

I wondered what sentiment I had I could use to be the focal image of my card like the sketch.  I went looking through my catalog and ran across Amazing Family.   I knew it would be perfect so I started creating.  I found an image for the element running down the side of the card and then decided to make some vellum flowers for the 2 elements at the top.  Here is my creation.

I have a busy day today.  Lots going on as I do another final observation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I loved playing with the vellum and need to use it more.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

A new challenge - butterfly

Good Morning Everyone!

Well today we have a breakfast with everyone and they are doing a show-n-tell.  I didn't bring anything for the show-n-tell.  I don't like talking about my knitting so I just don't share.  After that I am headed home.

I found a new challenge blog.  This one is called Butterfly Challenge.   I love butterflies so I decided to try this one.  Here is the challenge for this week.

The 4th challenge is
Spring Time at Last.
So I would like to see
the colour Yellow
with your Butterfly on your entries.

I thought it would be fun to use some of my designer series paper.  I found the perfect one in Afternoon Picnic.   When I had the flowered panel put together and laying on the card, I thought about the Flower Garden embossing folder and decided to use it.  Here is my creation for this challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will share more about my trip tomorrow.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Clean and Simple and Utah Divas

Hello Stampers!

Well today we are going to tour a knitting company in the morning and spend some time at a glass studio.  Last year we did a glass studio session and I made 2 necklaces.  I loved them.  I am not sure what I will make this year.  I will let you know.

My card today started with the sketch challenge at Clean & Simple

I saw the color challenge at Utah Divas International and thought it would be great to use those colors for my card.

I wanted a simple card like the sketch so I just added a curved line of mini flowers.  Here is what I created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I think this card is so fun, how about you?  Have a Super Saturday!

Golden Happy Day

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am headed to my knitting retreat!  I went last year and had a great time.  This year we are going to Easton, Maryland.  Tonight we have a dinner planned for the whole group.  It will be nice to unwind and chat with everyone.

My card today began with the sketch challenge for SUDSOL.

I liked this sketch and wanted to give it try.  I checked out the challenge at Dazzling Divas and loved the photo inspiration.

Dazzling Diva Challenge #18

I thought the card would be great done with Vanilla and gold.  Here is what I created for both challenges.

This is a very pretty card.  Simple but very striking.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Have you used gold and vanilla together yet?  Give it a try.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Punch Art for Zoie - turtle

Hello Ladies!

I spent all day yesterday making cards.  I needed to get my cards for my upcoming workshop completed so I could share with my customers, I needed my punch art for today, and I needed some cards to post this weekend while I am out of town.  It was nice to get a lot accomplished.

Today is my punch art card for Zoie.  The other day she had a cookie cutter for her play doh/slime and she asked me what it was.  I thought it was a turtle but it was a frog.  We had a little discussion about a turtle so I thought I would use that idea for her card today.  I looked on Pinterest and found several examples that I used for my model.  Here is Zoie's card for this week.

I have a lot to get done before I leave on Friday.  I am excited about my knitting retreat.  We have some fun activities planned.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will give punch art a try.  It is easier than you think.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Chocolate Chip

Happy Mid-week Ladies!

We got several inches of snow yesterday.  It did not do much on the roads but it did accumulate on the grassy areas.  I wonder if we will ever have Spring weather.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  We have a small hop this week.  Everyone is sick of the snow so they are leaving town!  lol

This week our color choices were

Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky

                OR

Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke

We had an interesting added piece this week.  Our card cannot be a regular size card (4 1/4" by 5 1/2") but must be a different size.  I thought I would make a little gift card.  I have to admit I did it because I spent yesterday finishing up my shawl and it was 10:00 before I even started to think about my card.  Even with the smaller size I had no idea what I was going to do.  I decided to pull out my small flower set - Petals Parade - and go from there.  Here is what I created using the second color choice from above.

Are you ready to see what other size cards the rest of the ladies created?  The next stop is Amanda at Our Crafy Playdate.  Make sure you leave them a comment so they know how much you enjoy the blog hop.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Which color choice would you have used?  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Helpful Friend!

Hello Stampers!

Well here we go again!  Another snow storm is predicted for today.  This one is only supposed to give us an inch but we will see.

My card today is for the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a sketch challenge.

I have to say I was not sure when I saw this sketch.  I had no idea where to begin.  I ran across some sentiments I had stamped from Feels Good.  I decided to use it and see where it took me.  I pulled out some Sweet Sorbet ds paper and started creating.  Here is what I created for our challenge.

inside of card and envelope

We would love to have you play along with us.  Grab your supplies and see what you can create with this sketch.  Then upload it to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am going to cross my fingers that we do not get the snow.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

House of cards - photo inspiration

Second Post - Scroll down for the first one!

Hello Everyone!

Well we have an extra challenge this month at House of Cards.  We have a fabulous photo for our inspiration.

Isn't this just a great photo.  I love the colors in this photo.  It was a great one for inspiration.  I thought they matched Pistachio Pudding, Marina Mist, and Daffodil Delight.  I decided to use those colors for my card.  Here is what I created.

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of the photo.  We would love to have you join us at House of Cards.

Spring!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I did not get outside yesterday either.  It was just too chilly and I had a lot to do inside.  With the weather this week I may not get outside for another week.  I do need to do it soon as my plants will start to sprout and I want to cut them back before they do.

The challenge this week at Late Night Stampers is all about Spring.  Since Spring has sprung we are to show our creations using flowers and/or Spring colors.  I decided to use both.  I used flowers in Calypso Coral, So Saffron, and Wisteria Wonder.  I added some Pear Pizzazz green leaves.  I combined it with a sketch challenge.

Mary Jo at Technostamper has the perfect sketch for this challenge.

I thought this would be the perfect card to use Flower Shop and Petite Petals together.  The rest was just putting my card together.  Here is what I created for these challenges.

inside of card and envelope

This is a fun card.  I love the colors as they do say Spring.  We would love to have you play along with us and our Spring Challenge at Late Night Stampers.

Then make sure you head over to Mary Jo's Technostamper blog and play along with our sketch challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope to see your creation in our challenges.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

A mistake in my favor!

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I did not get outside yesterday.  It looked like it was going to rain all day.  I was afraid I would get out there and get set up and then it would start raining.  I may try today for at least a little while.

My card today was a mistake for a challenge at SUDSOL.  There was a challenge where I thought we were to find a card on Pinterest and case it.  The real challenge was to use the card the moderator found and get inspiration from it.

So I went looking and found this cute card by Tilly

I loved the soft Spring colors and the whimsy of the circles.  Since I could not use it for the SUDSOL challenge I decided to use it for my chat and challenge today.  I decided to challenge the members to make a card with the them Spring Whimsy.  Here is my creation from the above inspiration.

inside of card and envelope

I love the simplicity of this card.  It is so pretty and such a fun card.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What does Spring Whimsy mean to you?  Make a card and share it with me.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Technique Tuesday - Caught in Crystal

Good Morning Stampers!

I am babysitting this weekend so I took some time yesterday to play so I would have some things to post.  Zoie was at the sitters so I can usually get a lot done.

My card today is for the Caught in Crystal challenge at Technique Tuesday.  Mynnette has a great video showing you how to do this.  It if easy but I think my Crystal Effects was almost empty so I'm not sure I got the effect you should for the background.  I love the way this turned out!  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

You can't see the glitter in the background but it is there and very sparkly.  You should head on over to the Technique Tuesday blog and try this technique.  It is a lot of fun!

Thanks for visiting me today.  The weather is supposed to be gorgeous so I will take Zoie outside to play while I work on my flower beds some more.  Have a Super Saturday!

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CARD CLASS - COLOR

Hello Stampers!

We had some fantastic weather yesterday.  It was warm enough that I only needed a sweatshirt.  It was great to have the sun out all day.  I think Mother Nature is playing with us as there is a snowstorm in our forecast for next week.  I am hoping the weatherman are wrong since it is quite a few days away.

My card today is another one for my Clean and Simple card class.  This one is for a color challenge.  We were to choose some colors and create a card with them.  I chose to use Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, and Tempting Turquoise.

I used minimal stamping on this to keep with the clean and simple concept.  Here is my creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am going to spend some time outside today as it is supposed to be another great day.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Punch Art for Zoie

Good Morning Stampers!

Yesterday was a rainy dreary day.  I met with my friend Candice to work on our Spring stamp camp.  We have the projects picked out.  We started making a few of them yesterday.  We are meeting again tomorrow to make some more.  We are hoping to find a place and get a date soon.

I thought I would stray a little from a punch art card for Zoie this week.  I got some of the mini coffee cups a few weeks ago.  They are all the rage right now.  On my SUDSOL group someone posted the cutest bunny pail.  I thought I would use the template she shared to make a coffee cup bunny.  I will put a package or two of gummy fruits in there for her.  Here is my creation.

Isn't this just the cutest!  I think it turned out great.  I think I will make them in my April workshop as I know my ladies will love it.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am hoping today is a little nicer.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Summer Starfruit

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope you had a great day yesterday.  I had 2 ladies come over to make up a class they had missed.  We had a great time chatting.  I also had to make the added piece for my challenge today.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were

Summer Starfruit, Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze

                               OR

Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, Real Red

This week our added piece was to make something other than a card - bookmark, flower, scrapbook page, etc.

I have to admit that I looked at this and immediately started thinking about a card.  I even had my card made and went back to look at it again and realized I needed to do something other than a card.  I decide since I had my card made already I would make a bookmark to go with the card as a special gift.  I used the design from the card to design my bookmark.  Here is what I created.

Since I began with the card I started with a sketch for the card so I went looking and found a great one at Clean & Simple stamping.

I thought this would be a great sketch to use as these colors are not ones I could think of something to do easily.  At least with this sketch I had a place to start.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

So are you ready to hop on down the line and see what the other ladies created.  Remember it was not to be a card.  Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate will have a fantastic share for you.  She is the next stop on the blog hop.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you take some time for you today - whether it be time to create or time to relax.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Just Us Girls - Tuesday

Hello Everyone!

I hope you had a good day yesterday!  It snowed most of the day but the roads are pretty clear so it did not stop people from getting out.  I did not get to play like I wanted.  I was tired as I had to take my sister to the emergency room in the middle of the snow storm.  We did not get home until after midnight.  She has a stomach bug that she cannot shake.  Hopefully she will be better soon.

My card today started with my playing with some new toys.  I got a stencil and some stencil paste from Dreamweavers.  I want to give it a try.  I sponged on my color then added the stencil paste.  After I had the paste on the card I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds.  Then I let it dry.  After that I had to make my card.

I went looking for some inspiration and found a great color challenge at Just Us Girls.

I thought the Petal Parade stamp set would be a great combo for the ferns.  I stamped and punched my flowers.  After I added them to my card I used my candy dots for the center.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

Do you see that double bow?  My friend Cathy Parlitsis has a great video for how to tie it.  It is so easy and you do not need any special supplies.  I have never really cared for the seam binding as it separated on me with the way I tied it.  I do not have to worry about that now so I have ordered some.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you have some fun plans for the day.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

2 Challenges for you today!

Hello Stampers!

Well another great day for stamping as we are getting snow again.  We are having quite a snow storm.  It started last evening and went all night.  It is supposed to go until midday today.  We will see how much we get.

I have 2 cards to share with you today.  My first card is for Mary Jo's Technostamper sketch challenge.  We had a fun sketch to work with.

I decided to use some of my learning from my Clean and Simple Card Class on my card today.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope
We would love to have you play along with us.  Use the sketch and then link it up at Technostamper.

My next card is for the House of Cards challenge.  This week we were to add a button.

I don't often use buttons.  I am not opposed to using them, I just forget that I have them.  I used my Take Ten magazine for the layout inspiration.  Here is my creation for this challenge.

We would love to have you play along with us.  Some of you use buttons all the time so this would be an easy challenge for you.  I hope you head over to House of Cards to see what the other design team members have created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you get some time to play some today.  I will be playing some more.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

New Towne Village cards

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope all of you got to take advantage of the great weather yesterday.  When I got home Jess was working in the garage.  I jumped in and started helping her.  By the time we were finished we had made a huge dent in it.  Our goal was for Chris to be able to park his car in the other bay.  We think he will be able to.

My card shares today are the cards my group at New Towne Village Retirement Apartments will make on Tuesday.  I have about 6 ladies and 1 gentleman who make cards each month.  This month we needed to make Easter cards as the next time I go it will be too late for them to mail them.  I saw several punch art Easter cards that I wanted to do.  I am sure the group will love them.  Here are the cards they will make next week.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Have you thought about your Easter cards yet?  Have a Sensational Sunday!
