Coloring Down the Lines - Pistachio Pudding

Hello Stampers!

Wow did we get some rain today.  They say that tomorrow we will get even more rain than today.  I am wondering when it will dry out enough to cut my grass.  Oh well I guess I will have to find something else to do with my time - lol.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  We have everyone back from vacation and all computer issues have been resolved.  We have a full blog hop this week.  I am the start of the hop.

This week our colors were

Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe

                                       OR

Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush

This week our added piece was to add buttons.

I wanted to continue with using some of my retired sets.  I decided to combine my Off the Grid - which I will truly miss when this catalog retires - and Fabulous Florets.

Here is what I created.

Are you ready to hop on down the lines to see what the other ladies created?  Your next stop on the hop is Amanda's Our Crafty Playdate.  I can't wait to see what she did with this challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will leave some lovely feedback for the other ladies.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

A Great Evening!

Hello Everyone!

It is 11:40 pm and I just got home from the catalog premier and realized I had not scheduled my post for the next day.  Decided to get on and do a quick post.  It was a fun evening with some great ladies.  My swap was fabulous.  Only 1 lady did not show up.  We got a new stamp set that I will be using in my workshop in May.

I had a lady buy some of my cards and she wanted boxes to put them in as they were gifts for her Mother-In-Law.  I thought I would share one of the boxes today and the other later this week.

SUDSOL has a template library that is available to member.  I found a tutorial for a larger size box that I needed and used it to make the box below.

I used retired cardstock and ds paper to make it.  The lady loved it.

Well I am headed to be as I have to get up to work tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be spending time in my craft room today to make some things to post later this week.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Today is the Day!

Good Morning Ladies!

Well this evening I am headed to a theater in Alexandria, Virginia to see the Catalog Premier Stampin' Up is having.  I am also doing a swap I organized.  It will be lots of fun and I can't wait to see what the new catalog has to offer.

My card today is for Mary Jo's Teachnostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

When I saw this I was stumped as to what to do.  I looked at the few samples the other ladies on the design team had created to see if I could get some ideas.  It did not help.  I then decided to pull out my catalog and see if I could get any inspiration from it.  I ran across a stamp that I thought would be fun to try with this sketch.

I also decided to use some of retiring designer series paper.  I used it for the bottom piece of the sketch.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

I am cutting this short as I am tired and need to head to bed.  I had computer iPhoto issues and was up later than I wanted to be.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I hope your week starts out great!  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Glittery Garden

Hello Stampers!

I hope you had a good day yesterday.  The weather here was gorgeous.  We did have some rain last night but it was a brief shower.  I was able to spend some time working on my swaps for the Catalog Premiere on Monday night.  I only needed 15 but I have a lot of pieces to the card.  I have the pieces all sponged and ready to assemble the card tomorrow.

Today at SUDSOL I am hosting a chat and challenge.  Our challenge is to use the Weekly Sketch Challenge and make a card.

I liked this sketch, but decided to flip it to make if work for the idea I had in mind.

I got my colors from the color challenge at Utah Divas International blog.

I wanted to do the Glamorous Butterflies challenge at the Butterfly Challenge blog.  You were to use a butterfly that had glitter and sparkle.  I decided to try stamping on our Silver Glitter paper.  I used a black stamp pad but it did not show up.  So I decided to stamp the image on my cardstock and when I punched it the black would show a little.  I used an alcohol spritz colored with my reinker to color the glimmer paper.

When my card was finished I realized it also fit the Garden Challenge at CASology.  Here is what I created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am hoping to get a lot done tomorrow but it will depend on how much Zoie lets me do.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Summer - Clean and Simple

Hello Ladies!

I had very little time yesterday to play in my craft room.  I did manage to get a card made for today.  I will have to be a busy bee and work around Zoie this weekend to get my other cards made .

I needed to do my card for today's post and I had no idea what I was going to do.  I decided to check out my challenge blogs.  I was immediately drawn to the color challenge at Color Throwdown.

I thought these colors would be fun to play with.  Now I needed a layout.

I saw the sketch at Clean & Simple and knew it would challenge me.

I was unsure what I would do with the 3 panels.  I pulled out my catalog and checked out my stamp sets.  I thought I could flip the sketch and use the Summer Silhouettes set to do this challenge.  Here is what I created from these 2 sketches.

inside of card and envelope

I decided to use a ribbon rather than a sentiment.  I also used some of my retired designer series paper to make an envelope.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am working on my swaps for Monday evening.  I got my base finished and the pieces punched.  Now I need to sponge the edges and then I can put my card together and it is done.  Have a Super Saturday!

Fresh Diva

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am glad it is Friday.  I have a lot to get done this weekend.  I have to make 2 boxes for some cards a lady purchased.  I also have to make my swap for Monday as well as some challenge posts for this weekend and next week.

We had good news on Wednesday evening.  We found Beaker.  He showed up here and spent some time in the garage.  Chris noticed signs of him last night.  He then flushed him out of the garage and Beaker came charging into the house.  He would not let anyone near him last night but he is better today.  Jess is glad he has shown up.

My card today is for several challenges.  I started with the Dazzling Diva Challenge.

DAZZLING DIVA CHALLENGE #22

I went looking and I had a purple metal sheet so I punched some scallop circles to make some flowers.

Now that I had some flowers I had no idea what to do with them.  I went looking for a sketch for some inspiration.  I found a fun one at Freshly Made Sketches

I liked this layout and decided it would be perfect for what I wanted to do.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Since I was babysitting last night I basically put my card together in under 15 minutes.  I have to practice as a swap I signed up for at Convention is clean and simple with a Wow and has to be created in around 10 minutes.  Now I need to get the Wow in there.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What are your plans for today?  I hope they include something fun.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's punch art - lamb

Hello Stampers!

I was not certain what I was going to do for Zoie's card this week.  I was brain dead when it came to ideas.  I decided to go on Pinterest to see if I could be inspired.  I was glad I did.  It took me a while to finally decide on something.

I ran across directions by Alexandra Bleicher to make a cute lamb and decided to use them.  I made my lamb using her punch directions then I needed to make my card.  I pulled out my fringe scissors and made some grass.  Then I added some clouds  and it was done.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I was at a loss for what to put inside and decided to make an envelope - something I have not done in a while.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I have to take some time this weekend to make my swaps for the Catalog Premiere I am going to on Monday.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Crumb Cake

Happy Midweek everyone!

Well it has been a sad day at our house for a few days.  My daughter's cat got out somehow and we have not seen him since Sunday evening.  We have called and called as well as she and Chris have looked and looked.  She just posted flyers and we are hoping someone has seen him.  Cross your fingers that someone has seen him.

Today is our coloring down the lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.

This week our challenge was

Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron

                           OR

Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Garden Green

Our added piece was to use lace.

As I came in to post this I saw the lace piece.  Lace would not go with my card so I took some liberty and substituted linen thread.

The retirement list came out on Monday.  As it turns out the stamp set and embossing folder are both retiring.  Here is how I interpreted the challenge.

inside of card and envelope

I struggle with using Cajun Craze.  It is not one of my favorite colors.  Neither of the color choices spoke to me.  And then to try and add the lace just didn't work.  Oh well, I at least used the colors.

Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with this challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today.   I am hoping next week's colors are better.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Iris Spotlighting

Hello Everyone!

Well we are going to have a rainy few days.  That will not be a problem as I could use the time in my craft room creating as well as cleaning it.

Today is our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This challenge is a sketch challenge.

When I saw the sketch I started thinking.  I had several ideas go through my mind but the one I wanted to try was the spotlighting technique.  I thought it would be fun to use the 3 squares to do the technique.  I stamped my image on my paper and then stamped it a few other times to use to make my squares.  After I punched the first one I realized I had not punched it straight.  So I decided to take some liberty with the squares and the placement of them.  I punched 3 squares at different spots and different angles.  I then colored them in.  After that I needed to put my card together.  Here is my final creation.

Will you be playing along with us?  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other design team ladies created.  I am sure you will love them.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Will you spend some time playing today?  We all need some time to be creative.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Grungy Hi

Second Post!  Scroll down for the first.

Today is the day I also post my card for the House of Cards challenge.  I do a Clean and Simple design.  This month our sketch was this one.

The sketch itself was clean and simple so it was  easy to create a card for this.  I thought it would be fun to use this sketch to make a simple guy card.  I pulled out my Gorgeous Grunge set and made the card.  I wanted something in the center for the butterfly image so I decided to add a sentiment.  Here is the card I created.

We would love to have you play along with us this week.  Head on over to the House of Cards blog  to see what the other design team members created.  Then grab your supplies and play along with us.

Florets for Mom

Hello Stampers!

What a Great Monday Morning we have!  I am hoping the rest of the week will be like today.  The temperature is perfect.  A great day to finish up my flower beds!

Zoie is at the Easter Egg Roll at the White House.  Jess put her name in just for the fun of it and she got chosen.  I can't wait to hear how it went and what she did.

The challenge this week at Late Night Stampers was all about the Mom's.  Since Mother's day is right around the corner we were to create a card, gift, scrapbook page or whatever inspires you for Mother's Day!

I thought of the soft colors of Watercolor Wonder ds paper.  I thought that combined with flowers would make a great Mother's Day card.  I will so miss this paper when the mini retires!

Mary Jo at Technostamper gave us a great sketch this week.  I thought it would be perfect for my card.

It has been a while since I played with my Fabulous Florets set so I pulled it out for my card.  I don't have any current Mother's Day sets so I pulled one from a retired words set.  Here is my creation.

Are you going to play along with us this week?  You have 2 challenges you can try.  Lots of options for you.  We would love to see what you create!

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you get some time to spend outside today.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Karen Burniston Workshop - Card 2

Happy Easter Ladies!

Today is a day for family.  This will be short so that everyone can spend time with their loved ones.

My card today is the second card we made at the workshop I attended.  This card uses the Lucy Label Pop Up.  We used a sanding block to sand the top of the embossed sheet.  This made the butterflies pop.  There was a window sheet attached to the cut out butterfly.  The patterned paper was attached to the bottom and I tied a bow around it.  I had to attach the pop up to the card base.  The butterflies were cut with one of her accessory dies.  We had lacy ones as well as solid ones.  I layered them in opposite ways to add some interest.  I took the one that had the solid butterfly on top and lined it up with the cut out on the cover.  I then attached it to the pop up.  The other butterfly was attached to the another layer of the pop up.  The oval was then attached and the extra was cut off.  The final piece was to attach the Thinking of You peel off.  Here is another card we made.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to visit me today.  I hope you enjoyed the next card that I made.  Have a Sensational Easter Sunday!

Karen Burniston Workshop - Card 1

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope you are having a good weekend.  I was very lazy yesterday.  I did some knitting and made my cards for my upcoming stamp set class.  I just could not get going so I figured I needed a lazy day.  I am hoping to be more productive today!

My card today is one of the cards we made at the Karen Burniston Workshop I went to.  This workshop was over 3 hours and we had a little bit to finish when we got home - we had to color some of the pieces.

My first card used the oval accordion die.  It was cut out of a dark green cardstock.  They used a patterned paper to cut 2 other panels which we attached to the front and middle panel of the card.  The ovals were attached to the first and third oval.  The sentiment oval was stamped with a retired Stampin' Up stamp.  The scallop oval was a thin wooden piece that had slits on each end.  We threaded the ribbon through the slits and then trimmed the ends.  The butterflies on the wooden piece were cut out using the Butterfly Accessory dies and a red twine was tied around it to be the antenna.  The front panel of the oval is a peel - off sticker.  It is a black outline that was attached to an ivory cardstock and we had to color it when we got home.  Here is the finished creation.

card opened up

I hope you will come back tomorrow to see another card I made at her workshop.  I enjoyed the class and learned a few tricks to help with my creations.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Spend some time relaxing today!  Have a Super Saturday!

Some new toys

Happy Friday Everyone!

Are you ready for Easter?  I do not have to do anything as Jess, Chris, and Zoie are going to his parents.  It is his birthday so they are going to combine both celebrations.  It will a very relaxing day for me.

My card today is for the butterfly challenge at Butterfly Challenge blog.  This time you had to add a charm.

I had a hair appointment on Monday.  After I finished I met a girlfriend for lunch and we did some shopping.  One of the stores we went in was AC Moore.  While I was in there I looked in the beading section and found a great charm to add to my card.

I recently go some stencils and dies from Memory Box.  One of them I got was a stencil titled Butterfly Vine.  It was perfect for this card.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I taped my card base down and then taped the stencil down.  I then sponged on my ink.  I did the green first then cleaned my stencil so I did not muddy my purple.  After I dried the stencil I retaped it down and added my purple.

I also got a butterfly die which I cut and added to the front.  To add my charm, there was a hole through the middle that I thread my ribbon through.  I then just taped the ribbon to the back of my card.

If you like butterflies you should see some of the gorgeous creations at the Butterfly Challenge blog.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Tomorrow I will be sharing one of the cards we made at the Karen Burniston workshop.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Punch Art for Zoie - rabbit

Hi Ladies!

Is it cold in your area?  It was chilly this morning.  We had a freeze warning last night.  The day wasn't too bad as the sun was out.  It will warm up a little in a few days so I can deal with it.

Today is my punch art for Zoie.  A few weeks ago I shared a cute little triangle chick by Julie Davison .  She also had a cute rabbit.  I decided to make the rabbit for her today.  Julie does a fabulous job with her video explaining step by step how to make the little box.  She then goes further to show you how to make all the pieces to decorate it.  I followed her directions and here is what I created.

Isn't it just the cutest little package.  It is really tiny as it is only  2 1/2 inches tall.  I had a sheet of Doc McStuffins stickers I cut up and put inside.  She loves Doc McStuffins.  I am curious to see if she remembers to open it up and get the stickers out.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What little packages have you created?  I would love for you to share them with me.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Crisp Cantaloupe

Hello Ladies!

Well we are back to cold weather.  I saw on the news some places actually got snow.  I know up near DC they were getting some ice.  This is crazy weather for the middle of April.  I will be glad to get back to the warmer weather.

Today is our weekly blog hop.  This week our colors were

Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding

                                     OR

Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede

Our added piece this week was to use vellum and make it an Easter card.

I saw a challenge at Just Us Girls for Creating a Watercolor Background.  I had done a card earlier using this technique and loved it so I decided to do it for this card also.

I chose to use the first set of colors.  I created my background and set it aside to dry.  I then stamped the swirl from Everything Eleanor on vellum using Whisper White craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I then used the extra wide oval to punch out 3 ovals.  I also punched out an oval of each color.  I attached the vellum to the ovals.  I now had my eggs.  I pulled out my fringe scissors and created some grass.  All that was left to do was to put my card together.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

inside of card and envelope

So are you ready to see what the other ladies created using this challenge.  Head on over to Helen's blog - Blue Dahlia Designs to see what she did with the colors.

Thanks for visiting me today.  We have a very short hop today.  Some of our ladies are still on vacation as well as a few are involved with Passover.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Birdhouse side step

Hello Stampers!

So what is on your agenda for today?   I have nothing planned for today so I will spend some time playing in my craft room.  I have a few cards I need to get made so I have something to post the next few days.  I have to work around Zoie as she will want to help.

My card today is one I created for the Technique Time Tuesday challenge.  The challenge this time is to create a Side Step card.  While I was watching the video I thought it would be fun to make a birdhouse for the full side panel.  I created the bird house first then I needed to do the steps.  I thought it would be good to have some flowers and of course I could not resist using my fringe scissors to make the grass.  Here is my creation.

inside and envelope

When I first cut off the sides of the top of the birdhouse, I cut it too close and the front of the card and back were not connected.  I redid it and did much better the second time.

When I went to the challenge blog to check out the challenge for this month, Mynnette had posted some sad news.  This will be the last month of her challenges.  I was so sad as I have loved doing a technique challenge each month.  Guess I will have to find a new technique challenge to do.

Thanks for visiting me today!  Will you take some time to play today?  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Afternoon Oh Hello

Hello Ladies!

Wow what a class yesterday.  We did 4 cards in 3 hours.  These were elaborate cards so we were very busy learning how to use the dies.  I can't wait to share them with you.

My card today is one I created for Mary Jo at Technostamper's sketch challenge.

When I saw the sketch, I thought of doily for the bottom element.  Using a doily made me think of the Afternoon Picnic ds paper.  Now I needed to put my card together.  When it was done I felt I needed to add something.  I remembered the Oh Hello set had the rose like the one in the paper.  I pulled it out and used it on an oval for the card.  Here is my creation.

I hope you will head on over to Mary Jo's blog - Technostamper to see what the other design team members created.  I am sure you will find a variety of styles and interpretations.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Spring Metal Flowers

Good Morning Ladies!

Well today I am on my way to take a pop-n-cuts class from Karen Burniston.  She is the lady who created the Pop-n-Cuts for Stampin' Up.  She is with a new company and has revised her platform die to be a framelit style.  I am so excited about this class to learn some new techniques.  I will be sure to share my creations with you later this week.

My card today is for the Dazzling Diva Spring/Easter or Anything Goes challenge

DAZZLING DIVA CHALLENGE #20

I decided to go with the Spring theme.  Spring to me is all about flowers.  I also love the Spring Green colors on the trees as the leaves are coming out.  The flowers were easy as I used some metal craft sheets and punched out some flowers.  I then embossed them and layered them.  I saw a technique video on Pinterest and decided to use it for my card.  I used Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive to watercolor the background.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am liking the Off the Grid stamp for adding a little something to the background.  Have you used it?  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Watercolor with Clear Blocks

Hello Stampers!

I spent yesterday with my sister at the doctor's.  When I got home I had to cut the grass.  I did not have a card to post for today so I quickly created one so you would have something to look at.

I started with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I thought this would be a quick sketch to work with.  I had looked at my challenge blogs and saw the color challenge at Nacho Average Challenges.

I really liked this color combo and decided to use it.

I was checking out Pinterest the other day and saw a card I loved.  I wanted to know how she created the background so I went to her blog.  She actually used a technique that Stampin' Up made a video on.  I looked at the video and decided to give it a try for my card.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I had fun with this technique and will be using it again.  Have a Super Saturday!
