Blooming Bling

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so excited to have my swaps almost done.  That will leave me some time to work on my hotel swap and my pillow gifts.  I have the ideas just need to get them made.  I will share all my swaps and pillow gifts with you once convention starts.

Today is the Late Night Stampers Weekly Challenge

This week our challenge was to do a Clean & Simple card and bling it up.  This is right up my alley.  I love clean and simple cards and I love lots of bling.

I used the great sketch Mary Jo at Technostamper gave us.

To keep my card clean and simple using this sketch, I  decided to use white and one other color.  The background panel I went with a white embossed piece.  I then used the flower from Blooming with Kindness and stamped it for the center image as well as on the 2 horizontal panels.  To bling it up I stamped it with Versamark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Here is my creation.

You can't see the bling as it is too hard to photograph bling.  It sparkles quite a bit.  I also like the idea of using the stamp for the horizontal strips so it does not end up too busy.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will play along with either or both of the challenges - Late Night Stampers   Or  Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Just Because Flowers

Hello Everyone!

Well the kids got home yesterday.  Zoie gave me lots of hugs.  I think they had a good time but were ready to come home.  I had gotten use to the quiet the past few days and got a lot done.  My goal was to get a lot of my swaps for convention designed/finished.  I achieved that goal.  All of my swaps are designed and 2 are finished and 2 are in some stage of completion and one is waiting for supplies in my order that will come this week.  I will work on them this week when I can.

My card today was designed around the color challenge at The Color Throwdown

I thought these colors were so pretty together.  I had borrowed the Flower Frenzy Bigz die from Renee.  I wanted to use the spray for one of my swaps for convention.  I decided to play with some of the flowers to see I like the die and want to spend the money on it.  This is a great die and will be getting my own.  Here is what I created.

I will be spending some time with Zoie today.  I am sure she will have some plans for us.

Thanks for visiting me today.  The weather is supposed to be great today so take some time to get outside and enjoy it.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Hexagon Circles

Good Morning Everyone!

Well yesterday was productive.  I got one swap finished, my July workshop cards made, and a card to post today and tomorrow.  I also had some time to do some knitting.  I am hoping today is just as productive.

My card today gave me some problems.  I really struggled with the colors.  I am not sure I like the final product so you will have to let me know what you think.

I saw a sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

When I saw the back panel I thought it would fun to use the top note die.  I cut it out and then wanted to add the Hexagon Hive thinlet on top.  After I had them cut and glued together I decided some simple circle flowers would be fun.  I destressed the edges and then add some silver Twink to the edges to give it just a litttle sparkle.  Here is what I ended up with.

I tried several different card bases but could not find one I liked.  What would you have used?

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoy your day today and have something fun planned.  Have a Super Saturday!

Wetlands Hi

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well I almost have my C&S with a Wow card designed.  I started it yesterday and had to play around with a few ideas.  I have the stamping idea and started stamping them.  I need to get the final design done and then I can put it together.  That leaves me with my black and white to design and make, my 3 x 3 to stamp and put together, and my tag swap to finish.  My card candy is completed.  I am hoping to get a lot finished up in the next 2 days as Zoie gets back from the beach on Saturday.

I wasn't certain what I was going to do for my card today.  I decided to check out my challenge blogs.  I found a sketch challenge I liked at Crazy 4 Challenges

When I saw the color challenge at Utah Divas International I knew it would be perfect to do a Wetlands card.

I did some sponging and tried to get different colors with the browns to show different levels of sand on a beach.  Not sure I accomplished that but I like the way this card turned out.  I may use it in my workshop in July.  Here is my creation.

So what do you think if of my card today?  Do you like it?  It is easy to create so if you need a quick card think of one like this.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Wish me luck that I get done everything I need to.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's punch art - fish

Hello Stampers!

Well I did not get to the yarn store yesterday.  Bijou has been sick all night and all of today.  I don't know what she got into but it gave her an upset stomach.  She finally ate some rice last night.  I am hoping she will be fine today as I have to work tonight.

I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my punch art idea.  I remember the cute boxes by Julie Davison.  I thought a fish would be good since Zoie is at the beach this week.  Jess shared a picture on Facebook and in her hand was a play fish so I went with that idea.  I did not remember seeing a fish so I had to come up with my own idea.  Here is my version as a fish.

I think he is so cute!  He was hard to photograph.  I think he also needs a bigger tail and fins bit she will love it.  This also fits the 3D challenge at Can You Case it? so I am entering it in their challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be working on some more convention swaps today.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - fancy fold

Good Morning Everyone!

I spent yesterday cutting out all the pieces for my Card Candy Swap at Convention.  I still have one left and then I can put the pieces together.  I also came up with an idea for my 3 x 3 swap.  I need to work on it today so I know what I need to order.  I also need to plan out my other cards so I can order supplies for them.  Hopefully I will be able to get that done today.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our picture was chosen by Joni.

Here are the Stampin' Up colors I thought closely match the colors.

Our added piece this week was to use a different fold from the regular card.  I wanted to do a gate fold card with a front panel.  I decided to use the Basic Gray as my card base and add some of the Neutrals ds paper.   I had borrowed the new flower die from Renee and decided to use it for the flower on the front.  Here is my final creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am headed to the yarn shop today as I have to work tomorrow evening.  Looking forward to spending some time knitting.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Colorful Butterflies

Hello Stampers!

I spent some time yesterday working on my Convention Swaps.  I need to get them going as time is running out.  I have some ideas for other swaps but nothing set in stone.  I am hoping to work on them over the next week to see how much I get done.

My card today is for the color challenge at Colours & Sketches.  This week they had a color challenge.

I decided to combine it with the sketch challenge at SUDSOL.

I thought I would try an idea I played with for the upcoming session of Stamp Academy for my background.  I like the way it turned out and even made a few other designs to use for future cards.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I will be spending some time in my office today putting it back together now that the new carpet and tile are down.  Wish me luck as I have a lot to get done.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am currently working on a few mystery shawls.  I am liking the looks of both of them.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Honey Lagoon Day

Happy Monday Everyone!

I had a fabulous weekend and learned so much.  It was a great class and I learned a lot about my knitting.  I also saw some patterns that I would love to  make.

Today is the sketch challenge at Mary Jo's Technostamper blog.

This was a simple sketch and I wanted to keep my card simple.  I also wanted to use a set that I had not used very often so I went looking through my catalog.  Here is what I came up with.

inside of card and envelope

This is a quick card and would be great to mass produce.  You can even change the sentiment and make a bunch of all occasion cards to have on hand.

Thanks for visiting me today!  It is quiet here at the house with the rest of the clan at the beach.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

My last version of the sketch

Good Morning!

Wow, my knitting class was fantastic yesterday.  I learned a lot.  We have class again today.  Today is the hands on part of the weekend.  I am so looking forward to today.  The only negative was the room was very cold.  I was glad I had my sweatshirt to put on.  I am hoping today is a not as cold.

Today I am sharing the last version of the sketch.

Today's version is the feminine version of the sketch.  I pulled out the Everything Eleanor set as I wanted to use the large flower as the circle element.  Here is what I created this time.

Sorry I am not very chatty today.  I posted this last night I was tired after my long day.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What would you create using this sketch?  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Another Version of the Sketch Challenge

Hello Ladies!

Running behind all day today.  I did get 3 of my swaps planned/designed yesterday.  I will work on getting them completed and then I will work on the other ones I need to do.

Yesterday I told you about taking this sketch

and creating 3 different cards to show you how you can use one sketch to create several different looks.  For today's card I wanted to make a masculine card.  I thought the Wetlands set would be a good one for this sketch.  Here is my masculine version of this sketch.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am taking a knitting class this weekend.  It is all day today and tomorrow.  This is my first knitting class so I am certain I will learn a lot.  Have a Super Saturday!

A Little Different Idea

Hello Everyone!

Today I am planning on meeting my friend and we are going to start working on our swaps for Convention.  I have to get going on them if I want to get them all done before I leave.  I am looking forward to today.

I decided to do something a little different this weekend.  I thought I would take a sketch and create 3 different cards using that sketch.  Today I am sharing the first card with you.

I am using the sketch from SUDSOL.

I found a great color challenge at Utah Divas International.

I decided to see what I could create for my first card using these colors.  I chose to use the Summer Silhouettes set.  Here is my creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow to see another card I made using this same sketch.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Crab

Hello Stampers!

The past few days have been brutal.  It is hot and humid and no one wants to do anything outside.  It is supposed to get a little cooler.  I hope it does as it has been high 90's close to 100 here.  I could go for a little cooler weather.

Today is my punch art for Zoie.  They are leaving for a week at the beach on Saturday.  I thought it would be fun to do a card to celebrate her trip.  I thought a crab might be fun.  I did a google search and found a great tutorial at Nendy's blog.  Here is my version using her tutorial.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my punch art card.  If you have not tried punch art you should find one you like and go for it.  It is really a lot of fun.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Borders

Good Morning Stampers!

Well yesterday I had my ladies at New Towne Village.  They had a good time making some simple 4th of July cards.  After that I cleaned my bathrooms and spent the day knitting.  I have a shawl I need to have finished by the 20th so I need to get it done.  I plan on relaxing and knitting again tomorrow.  I want to recuperate so I can get back to a regular routine.  Today I am going to vacuum my house.  Jess, Chris, and Zoie are headed to the beach for a week on Saturday so I want to have things in order before they leave.

My card today is for the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.  This week our colors were chosen by Helen.

Our added piece this week was to use an edgelit or framelit border.

I have to admit when I went to work on this I was pretty tired and had no idea what I was going to do.  I decided to make a bunch of punched flowers and I was going to use the edgelit down the side and have some stamped flowers down the inside of the card peeking out from the card front.  I could not get my edgelit to cut on the card without ruining the card.  I decided to make it a layer and add it on top.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

Are you ready to see what the other ladies created using these colors and the added piece?  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you will be able to stay cool today as the temps are climbing.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - sailing

Good Morning Everyone!

My sister came home yesterday.  She is doing very well and is even pretty independent.  She just needs to be careful she does not overdo it.  Thank you for all your prayers and good wishes.

My card today is for the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge

I was not certain what I was going to do with this sketch.  I thought about The Open Sea set and knew I could make it work.  I decided to stamp the log down the left hand side.  I then stamped the ship and cut it out with the oval framelits.  I used the small pieces as well as a piece from the By the Tide set for the star elements.  The rest is pretty self explanatory.  Here is my creation.

Make sure you head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies on the design team created.  There is some awesome talent on that team.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be taking today to relax and get caught up with a few things.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Serene Butterflies

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you had a fun relaxing weekend!  We had gorgeous weather here but this week it is supposed to get hot and humid.  Great time to spend the day in the craft room!

My card today began with the Late Night Stampers challenge.  This week we were to

Use a Butterfly

I combined it with the sketch challenge at Mary Jo's Technostamper blog

Isn't this a great sketch!  Such a fun one.  I knew I could use the 3 elements down the side for my butterflies.  All I needed was an idea for the long panel.  I thought about the stamp in Serene Silhouettes and knew it would be perfect.  Here is my version of her sketch.

inside of card and envelope

I am sure you would enjoy the other design team members cards.  Head on over to Mary Jo's blog to see what the other ladies created.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I need to get working on my convention swaps as it will be here before you know it.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Pistachio Work of Art

Hello Everyone!

I spent a little time yesterday evening when I got home from the rehabilitation center making cards for this week.  I managed to get 2 made.  I am hoping to get a few more made tonight if I am not too tired.

My card today is for the SU - Only Challenges blog.  Their challenge this week was

SUO Challenge 98 – Stamping in the Background!

I decided to use the Work of Art stamp set and do some gradient stamping.  I decided to use Pistachio Pudding and the new thick twine that goes with it.  The rest is easy.  This would be a great card to mass produce at it is very easy.  Here is my version of Stamping in the Background.

I love the inside of the card and the envelope.  Very simple but makes a statement.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What do you think of the Work of Art stamp set.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

CASE of Stampin' Success

Hello Stampers!

We have been getting a lot of rain the past few days.  We have thunderstorms every afternoon with heavy rain.  Next week it is supposed to get hot and with all this rain it will be humid also.  I can deal with the heat but do not like the humidity.

My card today was for the SUDSOL challenge which was to case a card from our monthly magazine Stampin' Success.

I decided to use the idea but change the colors.  I went this my favorite Moonlight ds paper.  Once I chose the patterned paper I then chose the Lost Lagoon as the matching card stock.  All I needed to do was stamp and paper pierce.  My card is a file folder style like the card above but when I photographed it I did not  set the card up to show that.  Here is my CASE of the card.

inside of card and envelope

I will be carving out some time to craft this weekend.  I need to get cards made for next week.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend!  Have a Super Saturday!
