Coloring Down the Lines - Gold and Flowers

Good Morning Stampers!

Well yesterday morning I felt so much better.  Then last night I started to clog up again.  I wish I knew why the evenings were so horrible compared to the rest of the day.  I am hoping that my evenings will start to improve also.

Can you believe it is the last day of 2014?  Where did the year go?  It was a great year with so many new adventures.  I am looking forward to 2015 to see what it will bring.  How about you?

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week I found a fun image to use for New Year's Eve.

Stampin' Up color matches

I thought this picture was so much fun.  I could not resist using it.  I spent most of the day today working with my friend Amanda for a new venture for us that will start tomorrow.  While I was working I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my card.  I decided on my colors right away.  After that I had an idea of what elements I wanted on my card.  I finally had some time late this afternoon to put my card together.  Here is my creation for our challenge this week.

I can't wait to see what the other ladies created using these colors.  I love seeing all the different interpretations of the colors don't you.  Make sure you head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to check out her card.  She shared it with me earlier today while we were Face Timing and it is super cute!

Thanks for visiting me today.  If you go out tonight, please be careful as the weather and drunk drivers make it dangerous to travel.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Birthday

Hello Ladies!

Well I am not feeling any better today.  In fact last night was one of the worse nights I have had.  I am sick of coughing and blowing my nose.  I so hope you do not have any experience with this.  I am hoping to feel better by at least Thursday.

Today is the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This week we have an inspiration challenge.

When I looked at this picture I saw the shapes in the top left corner.  I remembered we have a framelit with this shape so I thought I would use it.  I originally thought about cutting it out of gold but since it was a new framelit I decided to use white and see how it cut.  I did discover I need to use my metal shim to help it cut out all the pieces.  The next time I use it I will have to use the shim.  I was also drawn to the gold on the upper right and the silver at the bottom so I decided to see which I liked the cut out framelit with.  I decided the gold looked better so I went with that.  I just them needed to add some ribbon and a sentiment.  Here is my interpretation of the picture.

So what would you create using this photo.  Make something and share it with us.  Make sure you also head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other designers created.

Thanks for visiting me today.   I will be making a card for tomorrow and relaxing.  I missed my nap yesterday so I am hoping to get one in today.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge - Too Much Happy

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well I am a little better but still not up to par.  This stuff is nasty and really knocks you for a loop.  I spent most of the days since Christmas Day in bed.  I would get up a little but after an hour or two I had to go back to bed.  Now I have a nasty cough and a very runny nose.  I am hoping the cough goes away soon so I can at least sleep at night.

Today is the challenge at Mary Jo's - Technostamper.  Mary Jo gave us a challenging sketch this week.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the sketch.  I looked through my catalog for a sentiment.  Once I found it I only had to pick designer series paper to go with it and create my card.  Here is what I created for our sketch challenge this week.

I hope you will stop by Mary Jo's blog - Technostamper  to see what the other ladies created using this sketch.  We would then love to have you play along with us.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be taking it easy so I can get rid of this crud.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

The Paper Plunge and Ponies

Good Morning Ladies!

I am late with my post today.  I spent yesterday in bed sick and still not feeling up to par.  I needed to post my card for The Paper Plunge and pictures of the ponies as promised.  Here are the photos of the ponies first.

The pictures will start with the ponies as Jess had them set up.  She started upstairs.

Ok now on to my card.  This week the challenge at The Paper Plunge  is a different kind of fold.  I decided to use a gate fold card but turn it horizontal rather than vertical and add a belly band.  Here is my card for the challenge.

Well I am headed back to bed to rest some more I won't be back until Monday as I just don't have the strength to create.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Hope your Holiday was peaceful and filled with family and friends.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Colorful Birthday

Merry Christmas!

Well I am scheduling this post on Christmas Eve so I won't have pictures of Zoie and the ponies until tomorrow.  I will be sure to post them though as I am sure they will be too much.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I am making thank you cards and birthday cards for a request.  I decided to make this one a birthday card.  The sketch was pretty straightforward so here is what I made.

I am keeping this short and sweet as I know we all have a lot going on today.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoy your time with your friends and family.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Made My Day

Hello Everyone!

Can you believe it is Christmas Eve?  I had so hoped to have a little more time but it is not happening.  Yesterday Jess and I spent the afternoon cleaning up her old My Little Ponies.  Zoie is into the My Little Ponies just like Jess was.  She has quite a collection already.  Jess wants to give Zoie her Ponies that we had saved so we had to clean them up.  I counted the ponies we did and there were 62 of them.  There were a few we threw away as they were too dirty to salvage or had some other issue that could not be fixed.  Jess wants to have the ponies lined up from Zoie's room on the second floor down to the tree on the first floor for Christmas Day.  I will definitely be taking pictures that I will share with you.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.  We have a great picture this week - very Christmassy

Stampin' Up colors that match

Don't those pops look delicious?  What fun would it be to have them for dessert on Christmas Day.  I decided to play with 2 sets that will be available on January 6th.  One of the sets is in the Occasions catalog and the other is a Sale-abration set.  I love the tag shape and wish we had a framelit for it.  Here is my creation for our challenge.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some upcoming sets.  Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to which colors she used.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be taking some time to play today as I want to make cards for the rest of the week.  Have a relaxing Christmas Eve!

Pansy Snowman

Hello Ladies!

I spent yesterday wrapping presents while Zoie was not here.  I got them all wrapped.  Then Jess and I went grocery shopping.  It took both of us since she is still very sick.  I am feeling fine just have a nasty cough right now.  I am hoping I can get rid of the cough soon.

My card today used a few ideas I saw while looking for snowman cards.  The first was an idea I saw at Teresa's blog - Inspiration Station.  She had made a cute snowman card with a clear snowflake behind it and had used Stickles on the edges.  I did not have a die for a big snowflake so I pulled out my retired SU snowflake strip and cut out 3.  I then covered them with stickles and let them dry.

The second idea was a cute snowman using the pansy punch.  Petra 's blog - Mein Haus, mein Garten, mein Hobby shows you how to use the pansy punch to make this cute snowman.  I just had to try it myself.  It is easy to so and he turns out so cute.

I had to have a great background to showcase the snowflakes and the snowman so I sponged on some color.  I then added some white spots using the spot stamp in Gorgeous Grunge.  Here is my card using both ideas.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed this cute snowman.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge - Thank You

Happy Monday Stampers!

Well so far my cold has not been too bad.  I think because I am trying to be proactive with it and getting sleep as much as possible has helped.  Hopefully I can keep it at bay so it does not get as bad as Jess' and Zoie's was.

This weekend I helped Zoie work on some gifts for the workers at her school as well as a small gift for her teachers and 2 gift card holders for the gift cards Jess got them.  Here are some pictures of the gifts.

These are little candy holders for each worker.

These are antibacterial gel holders - yes the trees are on crooked as Zoie did this herself.

One of the gift card holders for one of the teachers.

Ok that is enough of what Zoie and I have been up to.  I was nominated to be a part of the Creative Blog Hop by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Eileen LeFevre.  She has a great blog and you can see here work HERE.

I love creating and sharing on my blog.  My hope is that someone will be inspired to try something new or to be creative themselves.  One of my favorite things to do is to participate in sketch challenges.  I am on a few design teams and feel it is an honor to be asked to design for a team.   Today I have a card I made for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge.  We have a fun sketch this week.

I don't often do long cards.  I usually sell my cards and it is easier to sell regular invitation size ones.  I modified the sketch to be the invitation size.  Here is what I created for the sketch challenge.

I hope you will head over to Mary Jo's blog to see what the other ladies created for the challenge.  We would love to have you play along with us.

Here are some questions that are part of the Creative Blog hop to help you know a little about me.

1.  What are you working on?

I am working on making cards for my blog.  I am also getting ready to make a Winter collage to display in my house.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?

I don't know if my work differs from others.  We each have our own style based on our strength and amount of time we have been stamping.  I would hope when someone sees my cards they will smile.

3.  Why do you create what you do?

I love to create and share.  Making cards to send is one of items I like to create.  The art of sending a card - handmade or bought - is slowly dying in this age of technology.  My hopes is that the person who receives my handmade card will smile!

4.  How does your creative process work?

I don't know how my creative process works.  Sometimes I use a sketch for inspiration, sometimes I use colors to inspire me, and sometimes I will have an idea I want to carry out.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope I have inspired you to be creative.  I have nominated 2 other people for the Creative Blog Hop for next week.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Step It Up Sunday - Snowman

Hello Ladies!

Well if finally happened.  I woke up yesterday with a cold.  I am still using my essential oils and drinking lots of fluids.  I am hoping mine will not get as bad as theirs was.  I am able to function and do things which is good as Jess is still really sick.  Zoie has a bad cough but seems to be getting better.  Now I will continue to do what I am doing and getting rest so I can get rid of mine fairly quickly.  Wish me luck.

Yesterday I shared a cute penguin card.  Today I used that card and stepped it up.  I again used the sketch from I Love Card Sketches

i Love Card Sketches - ILCS07

For my card today I used the other half of the paper from the card yesterday.  This way I did not waste it.  And just like yesterday, my diagonal is going the wrong way.

To step this up I added a layer of black behind the patterned paper.  I also used a strip of silver with black behind it for the center horizontal element.  Here is my cute little penguin for today.

inside of card and envelope

I don't know if I told you this yesterday, but I used a tutorial from Alex's Creative Corner to make the penguin.  She had a cute one with a hat on but I left my penguin hatless.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be taking it easy today as well as working on some presents for Zoie's teachers and a card or two.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Simple Saturday - Penguin

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday Zoie and I spent some time working on a cute little gift for the workers at her preschool.  It is simple and is basically a holder for a few pieces of chocolate.  Not much but it is the thought that counts.  We spent at least 3 hours working on it with all that had to be done.  It is not finished but we have some time as she does not go back until Tuesday.  We will also make a holder for the antibacterial soap I bought as well as a cute purse for the gift card Jess got for her teachers.

Saturday is the day I create a simple card that I use for the beginning of the stepped up version for Sunday.  This week I began with the sketch challenge at I Love Card Sketches

i Love Card Sketches - ILCS07

My sister suggested I could do some penguins also for Winter cards.  I decided to use the penguin for the center rectangle element.  I found a great tutorial for a punch art penguin at Alex's Creative Corner.   Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

If you look at my card carefully you will see my diagonal cut is opposite the one in the sketch.  I had to laugh when I had it cut and was putting it together when I checked the sketch to be sure I had all the pieces.  I guess I did not pay close attention to the direction of the cut.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be working with Zoie some more today as well as organizing my room more.  I did get my work area cleaned up and organized more.  I have in my mind what I want to do just need to see if it will work.  Have a Super Saturday!

The Paper Plunge - Blackberry Flowers

Hello Stampers!

I hope you are ready for Christmas.  The time is running short and I don't know about you but I have a ton of things still left to do.  With Zoie being sick and being home it has been hard to get done what I need to do.  Hopefully I will get some time this weekend.

Today is the challenge at The Paper Plunge.  This week the challenge is White with a Pop of Color.  This can be a challenging card as we often don't know how to get some interest in the card.  The best way to add interest is to add some texture.  You can do this by using embossing - both wet and dry.  You can also add interest by adding layers.  Layers give the eye a means to scan the entire card.

Now that I have given you some ideas I used in making my card,  I want to share with you my card.  I had a harder time deciding what color to add for my pop.  I also needed to decide what image I was going to use.  I didn't want to use flowers but I was limited to the few stamps that I have unpacked from my reorganization.  I ended up using a flower but it does make it a quick card.  Here is my creation.

I hope you will head on over to The Paper Plunge blog to see the other awesome creations by the design team.  There is some fabulous talent on this team and you have got to check out what they made.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am hoping to get some time to organize my workspace as well as some time to play.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

My Paper Pumpkin from November

Hi Ladies!

Well here we go again.  Zoie ran a fever all last night.  Jess took her to the doctor and she has the beginning of another ear infection.  Between her and Jess they just can't seem to get well.  Cross your fingers for me that I don't get the bad cold they keep sharing.

I got my November Paper Pumpkin a few weeks ago.  I had some time to play with it but I have not shared it with you yet.  I made 2 of the items as demonstrated in the kit.  I have then been playing with the rest of the pieces to do some other cards.  Here are the examples from the kit.

Now here are some cards I made.  I don't know if I found them on Pinterest or if these are my ideas.  I have a combination of both.  On some of them I also use some of my own supplies - white cardstock, silver cardstock, pearls, etc.

I hope you enjoyed my card samples from the November kit.  I just got the December kit and I can't wait to play with it.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you have some plans to play today.  Have a Great Day!
