Blooming Four Frames

Hello Ladies!

Wow yesterday was a beautiful day!  The sun was out all day and the temperature was just delightful.  I did not get into my stamp room as extenuating circumstances were not in my favor.

I needed a card to post for today.  I really did not know what I was going to do.  I went scrolling through my challenge blogs and saw this sketch at Nacho Average Challenges

I wanted something other than the flower image so I pulled out my catalog and started looking through it.  I saw the Four Frames and wondered if I could find something that would fit inside.  I wondered about the flower border in Bordering Blooms.  I stamped the frame I wanted to use then took the flower border and laid it on top of the frame.  It worked so I inked it up and cleaned up the parts I did not want.  I then stamped it inside the frame.  I wanted to make the flowers look like daisies as I love them.  After I colored them it determined my color palette.  I used Old Olive as a background and embossed it.  I then added a strip of Hello Honey that I stamped butterflies on.  I tried several card bases but loved the black the best.  Here is my completed card.

Coloring Down the Lines - Wishes

Hello Stampers!

Well I was quite a bit more productive yesterday than the day before.  I got several cards made and even started on a fourth.  Today I am by myself as Jess has to go to Virginia for her job.  I am hoping to get a lot done again today.

Wednesday is our Color Down the Lines blog hop.  Each week we choose some colors that all of use some or all of the colors and create a project.  This week our colors were chosen by Liz.  We had some gorgeous colors to choose from.

I wanted to create a card that did not have a white card base so I decided to use Crumb Cake as my card base.  I saw a sketch on Just Add Ink that looked interesting and would work great for my Crumb Cake base.  The rest just came together after that.  I did use the Chalk Talk set which is retiring.  Here is what I created.

Now it is time to hop on down the line.  The next stop is Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see which colors she used and what she created.  I am sure it will be fabulous!

Thanks for visiting me today.  It will be nice to have the house to myself today.  I should be able to get a lot done.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Bloom

Hello Ladies!

Well yesterday was a wash for me.  I did not realize how tired I was from the weekend.  I basically did not go into my stamp room at all.  I did choose my colors, stamp set, and sketch for my card tomorrow so today I will head into the stamp room and work on it as well as some cards for the rest of the week.

My card today was for the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild weekend sketch challenge.

I did not have time to make it before I left on Friday so when I got home on Sunday I hit the craft room and created my version of the sketch.  I wanted to use some of my retiring paper so I used it for the squares in the background.  I then decided to use the One Tag Fits All stamp set for the center image.  Here is my version of the sketch.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I need to get a lot done today so I hope I am able to accomplish as much as possible.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Polka Dot Poppies

Hello Everyone!

I had a great weekend at the knitting retreat.  We had a leisurely drive on Friday and when we got there we went for a walk and found a nice french bakery/cafe for lunch.  We kept it light as we were going to have dinner in a few hours.  After that we went back to the hotel and checked in.  We had a great dinner with the group that evening then we all did a little knitting.  On Saturday we got up and had breakfast.  Then we went for another walk and checked out quite a few of the shops.  We went back in time for lunch with the group.  We then did a little more knitting and then we went for another walk and checked out a few more stores including a knitting store where I bought a ball of yarn.  We then went back and went to the room where we did some more knitting.  We went down to the hotel restaurant and had dinner.  Mary and I were both tired so we went to bed early.  On Sunday morning we had a breakfast and a show and tell.  It was fun to see some of the items the ladies had made.  After that we headed home.

When I got home I watched the Nascar race and then headed to my craft room to make my card for today as well as one for tomorrow.  I wanted to used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches as I like playing along with them.

When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use my Pleasant Poppies stamp.  This set will retire in June and my massage therapist loves poppies so I decided to make a card for her since I will see her later this week.  I used a portion of the stamp to make the panel.  Since the sketch had 2 strips along the bottom I wanted to use some of the Neutrals collection paper stack.  These stacks will retire also.  I will miss them as I love the dots and chevrons.  It will be interesting to see what patterns they use next.  Since my card was fairly simple I decided to add some embossing to the card front.  Here is what my creation looks like using this sketch.

I used some ideas from Connie Smith's 2 minute Tuesday Tip video for photographing my card.  What do you think of the new set up?

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be working on some projects for the next Stamp Academy session.  I hope to get one finished and the tutorial written as well as start on the next one.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Step It Up Sunday - Mother's Love

Happy Sunday Stampers!

Well I am headed back home today.  I had a great weekend but I need to get back home.  I will make sure I let you know all about my adventures tomorrow.

Today I am taking the card I created yesterday and "stepping it up".  I again used the sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges as the starting point.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 141

To step up my card from yesterday, I used the large polka dot embossing folder on the card base.  Next I added a layer of Pink Pirouette paper behind the cut image pieces.  I then added some rhinestones.  Here is my "stepped up" version.

Simple Saturday - Mother's Love

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

My card today is my Simple Saturday card.  I take a basic sketch and create a card then tomorrow I show you how you can "Step It Up".

Surprise, Surprise!  I did not use the sketch challenge blog I usually use.  I decided to use a different one.  I saw a sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges that I thought of using.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 141

I thought about the sketch for almost a whole day and then it hit me that I could use the flower shape from Mother's Love and cut it into the 3 shapes.  I also would need to flip the sketch to get it to work.  Here is what I came up with for the sketch.

The Paper Plunge - Wetlands

Good Morning Ladies!

I am headed to Virginia today to my knitting retreat.  I am looking forward to relaxing and visiting some yarn shops.  I have some cards for you for the weekend so make sure you check back.

Today is the challenge at The Paper Plunge.  This week our challenge is to use the outgoing In Colors.  I have loved using Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding.  I am going to miss them and I hope our new In Colors are soft like these.

For my card today I decided to use Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana.  I also wanted to do a masculine card so I went looking for a sketch I could use.  Since I was going to use Wetlands, I found the perfect sketch at I love Card Sketches

ILCS24-001

I decided to also use some of the In Color paper stack.  Here is my version of the sketch.

Weekend Sketch Challenge - Fabulous

Hello Ladies!

Well yesterday was crazy busy so I did not get to the yarn shop.  I am going today as Mary and I have to plan our trip for the retreat.  I so need some time to myself and this will be a small time to do what I want.

Over the weekend the Facebook group I am in had a weekend sketch challenge.

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - April 17, 2015 - join us at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com

I thought it would be fun to use a backgound paper and then add a sentiment in the center.  I went with Gold Soiree ds paper.  I added a layer of Garden Green then created my center panel.  I added some gold thread on the bottom piece of paper.  Here is my creation.

Coloring Down the Lines - Silhouettes

Happy Mid week Everyone!

Our weather has been gorgeous the past few days.  It is so nice to have some sun and nice temperatures.  I am hoping it will continue through the weekend since I am going away.  I am headed to Winchester, Virginia for a knitting retreat.  We are not far from an outside walking mall they have downtown so I am sure we will check out the shops.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were chosen by me.  I wanted some bright colors for a change.

Stampin' Up color matches

I decided to use a sketch challenge for this one as I really liked the sketch at Fab Friday

I thought that the Summer Silhouettes set would be retired this year so I wanted to use it.  As it turns out the set is not being retired.  I stamped the leaf vine several times - I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the second vine so it looks like one long vine.  Then I stamped the flowers and cut or punched them out.  I arranged them on my background then glued them down.  I cut a banner using the banner framelits and added it at the bottom then attached to my card base.  I added a strip of Rich Razzleberry background paper stack.  Then I tied my Island Indigo bakers twine in my button and attached to my card.  Here is my creation.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Stars

Hello Stampers!

Wow was there some severe weather last night.  My Weather app was going off all night long.  We were under a tornado watch for a while and then several severe thunderstorm warnings.  It was an interesting evening to say the least.

Today I have my retirement village ladies.  We are making 4 cards this week.  It is fun to work with them and they are so amazed when they have a finished product.  I can't wait to see their look when they see the cards we are making.

The Hand Stamped Sentiments  challenge this week is a sketch challenge.

When I saw this I immediately thought of the Petite Petals punch.  But I did not want to flowers like the sketch so I had to do some thinking.  I remembered I had the star framelits and the star punch so I decided to go with stars.  I then decided to use a rainbow of primary colors for my card.  I punched them all out and them put my card together.  Here is my card for this challenge.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am hoping to spend some time in my craft room later today but not certain it will happen.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Technostamper Bunch

Happy Monday My Friends!

Yesterday I did not spend as much time in my stamp room as I had hoped.  I had a sinus headache most of the day.  I did manage to make a few cards for later this week.

Today is the sketch challenge at Technostamper.  The challenges at Technostamper are now 2 weeks long so you have a lot of time to play along with us.  Want to see the sketch?  Here is what Mary Jo gave us to work with this week.

I had not used Blackberry Bliss in quite a while so I decided to use it for a background.  I embossed it with the hexagon embossing folder and added it to my card base.  Next I had to come up with a center image.  I looked through my stamps and realized I had not used Mixed Bunch in a while so I pulled it out and started stamping.  I then punched out the image along with a Blackberry Bliss one also.  I cut a piece of Hello Honey card stock and then used the Finishing Touches edgelit on each end.  I then layered everything on the card base.  Here is my version of her sketch.

Step It Up Sunday - Fresh Butterflies

Good Morning Everyone!

Sorry I missed posting this earlier but I was exhausted last night.  I did not realize missing a few nights of good sleep could wear you down.  I did sleep good last night.  I was in bed and asleep by 9:00 pm.  Those of you who know me know that I am rarely in bed before 11 unless I am sick.  I feel a little more rested today and plan on spending some time in my craft room making cards for this week.

Yesterday I did my Simple Saturday card.  Today is the day I take that card and "step it up".  I again used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

To step up my card from yesterday, I cut the panel smaller and added a pink layer.  I then mounted this on the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped and punched by butterflies the same but used the Bitty Butterfly punch to punch some vellum butterflies that I added on top of the large butterflies.  I kept my sentiment the same but added some silver thread behind it and popped it up on dimensionals.  Here is my version of the sketch "stepped up".

Simple Saturday - very late!

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I am late with my post today.  I had a craft show today so I was up late last night and frantically trying to get everything I needed done and packed.  I took some time when I got home to make a card for Simple Saturday.

I don't know why but for some reason, the sketches at Freshly Made Sketches seem to fit this concept easily and then I can "step it up" without having to change a lot of things.  Here is their sketch for this week.

When I looked at this I thought of doing something sweeping across the card.  Everything Eleanor has a great swirl in it.  I sure am hoping it does not retire this year but it has been with us for a few years so I am not getting my hopes up.  I then wanted to do some butterflies as they always seem to go with swirls since they flit around.  Once I had my panel created it was just a matter of finishing up the card.  Here is my Simple Saturday creation.

The Paper Plunge - Double Dippin'

Happy Friday Ladies!

Well I was pretty successful today.  I manged to pick up the items I needed as well as work on quite a few items for tomorrow finishing some of them.  I will be busy today finishing up the ones I still want to do.

Today is the challenge at The Paper Plunge.  This week we have a sketch challenge as well as a "double dippin" challenge.

The "double dippin" part is for us to find another challenge to combine with the sketch.  I thought a color challenge would be perfect and since I was working on a time limit it seemed logical to me.  I went looking at my challenge blogs and found a fun color challenge at Colour Me...

So using both challenges, here is what I created.

We hope you will play along with us this week.  Give our sketch a try.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Since it is going to be rainy today it will be easy to spend the time in my craft room.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Another coloring challenge card

Hello Stampers!

Well yesterday I decided to do a community event on Saturday.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make to take and sell.  I have been working with my good friend Amanda and today when I got home from the yarn shop I cranked out several of her ideas.  Today I am having lunch with a friend and I will continue to work on more items.  I am hoping this is successful for me so wish me luck!

My card today was a quick make last night.  I only had a little bit of time to make something so I grabbed one of the items I made during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I really liked the butterfly I made.  I took the Swallowtail stamp and embossed it in black on vellum.  I then used my markers to color the back of the vellum.  I loved the look when I made it so I wanted to use the entire butterfly.  I cut it out and attached it to an embossed white card.  I think it really makes the butterfly pop.  Here is what my final card looked like.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Think of me as my fingers are flying making things for Saturday.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - watercoloring

Hello Stampers!

Well yesterday it rained all day.  It was a gentle rain most of the day so it was a perfect day to craft.  I spent the day cleaning my bathrooms and holding Remi for Jess.  The poor little thing caught Zoie's cold and was miserable.  She could not settle down and get comfortable.  Jess and I took turns and Jess also went to the store.  Hopefully she will start to feel better soon.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were chosen by Liz

Stampin' Up color matches

I had an idea for a sketch challenge that I wanted to try with these colors.  The challenge was at Nacho Average Challenges

My original idea was to stamp the same image and use the emboss resist technique.  Then I thought it would be fun to try stamping an image on the layer and the same image on scrap paper so I can punch out my circles.  I decided to do some coloring using ink in the lid technique.  It is hard to tell but the layer is on a black card base.  Here is what I came up with.

inside of card and envelope

Are you ready to see what the other ladies created using these color?  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what colors she used and what fabulous project she came up with.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am headed to the yarn shop later today.  I am working on getting all my started projects off my needles so I can start a new one.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
