Coloring Down the Lines - Sweater Weather

Good Morning Stampers!

Wow did we get some rain!  It was really coming down.  I am not sure how long it will rain today.  Then they are watching the weather to see what the tropical storm will do as it is supposed to come up the coast.  I know a lot of areas are under flooding watches and warnings.

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were chosen by me.

Stampin' Up color matches

I loved these colors when I saw it.  I am contemplating some new ventures and I decided to do something out of the ordinary.  I thought it would be fun to try a scrapbook page.  I looked for a couple of challenges and found one I could use for these colors at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog.  Here is their challenge.

#87 - Sweater Weather
With the Fall Equinox just around the corner we know that the weather is changing, and that typically means cooler temperatures, crispy leaves, pumpkins, sweaters and other cozy, spicy goodies. So, what inspires you about the changing weather?

When I saw this challenge the title made me think of warm, cozy sweaters.  When I think of sweaters I also think of plaid so I decided to use our colors to make some plaid and add in some leaves.  I cut my paper for a 4" x 6" and three 3" x 4" photos.  I then pulled out my inks and the stripes stencil to make my plaid.  Then I stamped a bunch of leaves.  I placed my card stock mats and then determined where my leaves should go.  I then glued everything down.  My picture is not that great and I tried taking in several times.  I need to do some experimenting with larger objects.  Anyone have any insight into how to take great pictures of scrapbook pages?  Pass them my way.  I may need to try photographing them from above.  Here is my page for the challenge.

Christmas Card Kit To Go

Happy Monday Everyone!

Do you realize that Christmas is only 87 Days away?  Where did the year go?  Have you started your shopping yet?  How about your Christmas cards?  I know it can be hard to think of a design at this time of year so I am here to help you.

I got together with a few of my friends from Convention and we decided to do a little swap - and I think you're going to like this one! The point of this swap was to design cards that would be easily reproducible for you and make kits. How this works - you can purchase the stamp set and inks and for a small fee I put together a kit consisting and all the paper/ribbon you need to make 10 cards.
If you like one of the designs below you contact me to order the kit for $10.00.  Don't live close enough to pick them up? For $5.50 I will send them to you by priority mail. It comes with all the pre-cut paper to make 10 cards.  So you can make as many as you want, and I will do the cutting for you. Sweet deal!  Need more than 10 cards, order more kits in sets of 10 for $10 and save on shipping.
If you like one of these, visit my site - link is on the side - and use hostess code KFXKSA4E
to order your set and inks.  Make sure you contact me first so you can make sure you get the right ink.

Here are 2 designs to choose from.  The first set was designed by me.  The second set was designed by my friend Amanda.

Don't you just love these!! So cute and simple and oh-so-easy to reproduce. Actually, that's kinda the point.  We are all busy and things will get hectic as Christmas Day gets closer.  Order your kits now and spend some time now making your cards.  Then you can address them as you finish them and have them ready to mail the first of December.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be video taping today and working on my alternative projects for the September Paper Pumpkin.  I will share some with you but my subscribers get to see all my designs in a private Facebook group.  Want to see all my idea, click on the link on the side and sign up under me.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Some other craft fair items

Good Morning Everyone!

Well yesterday was very productive.  After my lady left I threw it into high gear and started creating.  I made the 4 cards for my October Monthly workshop as well as 6 of the 12 cards I need for my Christmas Club.  Today I have a lady coming in the afternoon to do her stamp-a-stack.  I am hoping to do some work before she comes and will go back to it after she leaves.  I need to do some video taping but it will depend on Zoie if I get to or not.

Today I thought I would share another craft fair item.  I had some hand sanitizers that I decided to decorate.  I used the tops of the bottles to help determine how they should be designed.  Here are a sample of the ones I did.

Aren't these cute!  They were easy to make also.  I did have to change the design I found online as the size of the bottle was different.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you have some fun plans for today.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

Another Craft Show Item

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!

So it is County Fair weekend here and as usual it is going to rain.  I can't say we have had too many Fair weekends that were dry.  It is just the nature of the area I live in.

Michaela sent me a text the other day.  We have a date for the wedding - October 22, 2016.  She also has a venue.  It will be on Balboa Island at a Harborside Banquets.  It is beautiful and has a beautiful view of the water.  Now we get to find a place to rent for a little over a week as we need to be there early and staying in a hotel with 2 toddlers is not good.

Today I am sharing another craft show item I made.  I used some simple notebooks and jazzed
them up.  Makes the notebook special.  I also took some notepads and made a cover for them.  I included a little pen that was attached with a piece of ribbon.  Here are my items.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I have a lady coming this morning to do my stamp-a-stack.  The ladies yesterday worked for about 3 hours and made 48 cards.  Many of them made one sample and then took the rest home to finish.  I am sure the lady will do the same.  Have a Super Saturday!

The Paper Plunge - The Bass

Hello Stampers!

Yesterday was a whirl wind for me.  I had so much to do but I got it all done.  Glad I was able to finish it up.

"You know it all about the Bass, bout the Bass"

Today at The Paper Plunge we have a fun challenge.  This time we want you to create a card where the base of the key focus.  We often spend time adding interesting elements for our card and we forget that the base of the card is the key piece.  So we were challenged to make a card where the base is front and center.

I decided to do some embossing on my base.  I began with some diagonal scored lines.  After I had my scored lines I decided to emboss above and below those lines.  I used the decorative dots folder to add some fun dots.  My base was now complete.  I added a sentiment and rounded the ends and popped it up with dimensionals.  Now it was finished.  Here is what I created.

A Craft Show Share

Hello Stampers!

As you know I participated in a craft show last weekend.  I was busy for several weeks making all kinds of cute things.  I enjoy making these items and would do lots more but I do not have anyone to give these to.  If any of you do 3D items, what do you do with yours?

Today I thought I would share one of the items I made for the craft show.  I have seen lots of ideas for using the fry box die on the internet.  I decided to make some of these.  I made a few Halloween ones, a few Christmas ones, and a few All Occasion ones.  My picture is of the Halloween ones I made.  Here is one of the items I made for my craft table.

Isn't that Frankenstein so cute!  He was a lot of fun to make also.  The pumpkin one was easy as it was just punched ovals.  These would make cute gifts for the mail person, a teacher, or anyone else you would like to give a small thank you to.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be cleaning up my craft room today as I have ladies coming tomorrow for my Cherry on Top stamp-a-stack.  I took twenty-four 6 x 6 sheets of the paper from this paper and made 48 cards.  They will be busy as bees making all those cards.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Birthday

Hello Everyone!

Today I am going to help my sister get her things to the fair.  She does a lot of cross stitching and enters every category in the section.  She has a lot of items so I go and help her carry everything since she cannot.

I have been busy the past few days cutting paper for my Cherry on Top stamp a stack.  We are taking twenty-four 6 x 6 sheets and making 48 cards. That is a lot of paper cutting!

Our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop is today.  This week our colors were chosen by Helen

Aren't these colors gorgeous!  I just loved them.  I am in need of some birthday cards so I decided to used these colors to create my card.  I pulled out a stamp set I got at Convention that I had not played with much.  I stamped 3 different size presents and fussy cut them.  I stacked them on an embossed background and add my sentiment.  It then needed a sentiment and my card was complete.  Here is my project using these colors.

Hand Stamped Butterflies

Hello Stampers!

Wow the temperature was really cool yesterday.  A perfect day to play with ideas in your craft room.  That is what I did!  I had to make my card for today and then I needed to start cutting for my stamp a stack later this week.

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a sketch challenge.

When I looked at the sketch, I immediately thought of my new Metallic Doilies.  I thought it would be fun to use a doily with the butterfly on top.  I had some strips of butterfly stamped card stock left over from my swaps at Convention so I decided to use it also.  I also had a strip of embossed Basic Black using the Hardwood stamp set that I used also.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

English Birthday

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well another week is beginning.  This one is not as hectic as it has been the past few weeks were.  I do have a stamp-a-stack later this week that I have to prepare for but other than than it will be a quiet week.

My card today began with the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend sketch challenge.

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - September 18, 2015 - join us at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com

I thought it would be interesting to see what this would look like if I used patterned paper.  I pulled out my English Garden ds paper and started creating. I chose a simple patterned paper for the background.  Then I chose the fun patterned paper for the 3 squares down the side.  Then I added a ribbon and a sentiment and my card was complete.  Here is my creation.

Glittery White Christmas

Hello Stampers!

Well the craft show was okay.  There was not much traffic.  I think it was a little too early for people to be thinking about Christmas presents.  I did meet some new people who were interested in coming to my workshops.  Now I have tons of items for either gifting myself or Jess can use for school.

Today I started with the glimmer challenge at Just Add Ink.  Since I love glimmer this is a great place to start for me.  I then decided to use the sketch challenge at I Love Card Sketches

ILCS46

When I saw the 3 panels I could have used 3 different items.  I decided to see if the trees from White Christmas would fit and make a scene.  They would work if I did a little modification.  I stamped the trees on the left.  I then lined up the middle panel and marked where the snow bank needed to be.  I inked up the stamp using some masking and then stamped the middle panel.  I followed the same procedure to mark the right panel and then stamped the tree on it.  Then to add more glimmer I used my gel glitter pen and traced the trees and the snow.  My panels were done so I added them to my card base layer.  Then to add the ultimate glitter I added a strip of glimmer paper.  Here is my final card for the challenges.

Awesomely Artistic

Hello Everyone!

I was a busy bee yesterday but I got everything done I wanted to.  I packed the car and did everything I could last night so this morning would be less hectic.  I am so hoping everyone likes my things!

Today I used the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches

I had not played with it in a while so I knew it would be an easy one to do.  I decided to use Awesomely Artistic and I had intended to use the dragon fly in the set.  I stamped the bush and then went looking for colors.  I decided to start with a green so I chose Mint Macaroon. I colored all the leaves.  Then I wanted a color for the flowers.  I used a color site that allows you to put in a color and it will suggest other colors to use with it.  One of the colors that came up that I liked was Elegant Eggplant.  So I started coloring the flowers.  After I had colored a couple of the flowers, it was too dark for all the flowers so I decided to use a lighter purple with it.  I was thinking Perfect Plum but decided on Wisteria wonder instead.  I finished coloring all my flowers and put the rest of the card together using some of the Subtles Collection paper stack for the background.  When I had the card finished I realized I needed a horizontal strip at the bottom.  What better thing to use but my glimmer paper.  I pulled out a piece of gold and added a thin strip at the bottom.  My card was done!  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

The Paper Players - Animal print

Happy Friday Stampers!

Well another week down.  The weeks just seem to fly by lately.  Tomorrow is Jess' birthday and unfortunately I have the craft fair and Chris has to work.  I think she and Zoie are going to the movies so they will have a Mommy - daughter date.  I am hoping Chris can get off work early and they can go out to dinner.

Today is the challenge at The Paper Plunge.  Our challenge this week is all about the County Fair.  This week our card needs to be based on the sights and things you might associate with a County Fair.  This could be a card with an animal on it, blue ribbons, animal print paper, or apple pie.  Lots of choices so the field is wide open for your creating.

I decided to go with animal print paper.  I recently got the Go Wild designer series paper stack and knew I wanted to use this paper for the challenge.  I looked through the stack and decided on the piece I would use for my card.  Since the paper is busy, I decided to just add a sentiment and let the paper take center stage.  I found the perfect sentiment in the You've Got This stamp set. I stamped it and layered it on some punched card stock.

I had wanted to use black ribbon.  I went looking for my black satin stitched ribbon but could not find it.  I know I bought some but could not find it anywhere.  I am sure it will show up next week!  I ended up using a retired taffeta ribbon I had.  Here is my final creation.

Garden Friends

Hello Everyone!

Well I only have a few days left before my craft show.  I finished up one project yesterday and started the last one.  I got it about 2/3 finished so I will finish up the last 2 items today.  Then tomorrow I will price everything and pack the car so I am ready to get an early start on Saturday morning.  Wish me luck!

My card today began with the color challenge at The Paper Players

It has been a while since I have played with this challenge and the colors were so different than what you would think of for this time of year so I decided to join them.

When I am under a time crunch, a sketch challenge is a good way for me to design a card quickly.  I found another challenge I had not done in a while.  The sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges  appealed to me so I decided to use it.

These colors are so different and I wanted to do flowers.  I originally started with the idea to make Saffron and Tangelo flowers.  I stamped my flowers and started filling them in with the coordinating stamps.  Before I knew it I had colored all the flowers to I had to switch gears.  I then decided to add some butterflies  using the Tangelo.  After that I added my leaves and used the Lagoon color as it is a greenish blue.  That was the main panel.  I need to do the banner behind it.  I looked for ds paper but I did not have any that I thought would work, so I decided to use the Everyday Chic ds paper and mount it on black.  All the pieces were complete so I just needed to put my card together.  Here is my final creation.

Coloring Down the Lines - Gold Fall

Happy Mid Week Everyone!

Another productive day yesterday.  I got another project finished and my cards made for my retirement village ladies.  I am hoping to finish up another project today and do a few other things that I need to get done.

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week the colors were chosen by me.  When I saw this photo it just said warm yummy Fall.

Stampin' Up color matches

Since I was working under a time constraint, I knew I would need a sketch challenge to begin.  I checked out several challenge blogs and found a great sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

When I looked at this I immediately thought about flipping it and was thinking of the background piece as snow.  Well I did not go in that direction.  Instead I opted for a fall theme.  For the background piece I decided to use the woodgrain embossing folder.  After I had embossed it I want the grain to show up more so I ran my pad across the embossed pieces.  Now I had to address the center panel.  I decided to use the leaves in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set and stamp them in the other colors.  After I had the panel stamped, I felt it needed a layer so I pulled out my Cherry Cobbler and added the layer.  I then put my card together and it still needed something so I added a strip of gold glimmer paper as we all know everything is better with some sparkle!  I was pleased with my finished card.  Here is my creation.

The Last Bite

Hello Ladies!

Another productive day yesterday!  I got all of my notebooks and note pads finished.  I even started working on organizing and putting my cards in plastic envelopes.  I have a few things to work on today and then I just need to organize it all and put prices on things.  I should be ready by Friday that I can pack the car and be ready for Saturday morning.

Today I will need to work on some cards to post for the rest of the week.  It will take some time but I only have physical therapy this morning.  I should have lots of time to work on all that I want to get done.

I had 2 challenges I wanted to do so I decided to combine them.  The first was the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild challenge which was to use a new stamp set.  I had borrowed a set for a stamp that I needed for the craft fair.  Since it was a new set I decided to use it for my challenge.

Now that I have my stamp set I needed to have a sketch.  I found a good one at Fab Friday

I took the sketch apart and addressed  each of the elements.  I began with the doily and decided to use a spider web doily.  Next I needed the strips behind the circle.  The current Holiday catalog has some great washi tape so I chose to use that.  The next element was the circle.  I actually used 2 items to take the place of the circle.  I used a sentiment from the stamp set and the jack-o-lantern from another set.  Once I added them I still needed to add the star element.  I decided to use the Seasonal Frame Thinlits die and I opted to move it to the bottom of the card.  To finish off my card, I added some sequins.  Here is my final creation.

Bohemian Because

Hello Stampers!

I was very productive yesterday.  I completed 4 calendars, prepped my 3 x 3 cards so they are ready, and stamped a bunch of cards and categorized them.  I still have some projects to finish but time will tell if they get done or not.

As you know I made a bunch of cards over the weekend to post for most of this week.  I checked out a bunch to challenges and used those to design my cards.  For today's card I used the sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges

I wanted to use some of my supplies I have not used in a while so I pulled out my Bohemian ds paper.  I chose 3 papers to use for the 3 horizontal elements.  After I had determined how I was going to use each paper I needed a sentiment for the circle element.  I went to my favorite set for sentiments right now, the Tin of Cards.  After I had my card assembled it was missing something.  I decided to see what some gold glimmer paper would look like.  It added just the right touch so I added a strip of it.  My card was done!  Look what I did with this sketch.

Cut Out Fall

Hello Everyone!

Well the thunderstorms messed up the swim lesson.  They canceled it and did a water safety lesson.  Zoie was so disappointed.  It was disappointing for us also.  Now we have to wait until next weekend.

I saw this great color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary

CCMC372

I thought these colors were interesting together so decided to give them a try.  I also liked the simple
sketch challenge at Just Add Ink
JAI #279

I am not a fan of Delightful Dijon so I had to come up with something.  I remembered I had the outline from the leaves that were for the witch's hat home decor I made.  I decided to try something a little different.  I took the outline and cut it down then backed it with the So Saffron.  It still needed something so I took another outline and used my sponge dauber to swipe the ink into the center of the leaf.  I like the look this created.  I added a strip of washi tape and a stamped strip and popped the leaf on top.  I felt it needed a sentiment so I added that using the For All Things stamp set. My card was done!  Here is what I created these colors and using this sketch.
