I managed to get a few cards made yesterday after my workshop. I had to get my cards for my December workshop designed so I was ready for next week. I accomplished that and sent out my announcement also. Today I have a call with my coach and then I am going to try and get a new soap dispenser. Then I will work on some more cards. I also need to work on my preorder as Thursday we can preorder items from the Occasions Catalog. It will be a busy day but not stressful.
Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop. Our theme for the month has been "Thanks".
I have been doing Fall related cards this month but thought I would deviate from there a little. I saw a technique on Jennifer McGuire's You Tube channel and wanted to give it a try. I began by embossing the large flower from Birthday Blooms with white embossing powder all over the layer. Using a sponge I applied Pink Pirouette ink to the upper 2/3's of the card. You have to use a light hand and apply a lot of ink rather than press hard. This will avoid sponge marks on your card. You want to slowly fade the color as you go down the page until it is just white. I cut another piece of Whisper White and applied Pink Pirouette ink to one half of the card stock using the same procedure as above. After my ink was applied I used a soft cloth to wipe the ink off the embossing. This causes the image to pop. Using the Hello You thinlits I cut the word thanks out four times from Whisper White card stock as well as once from the strip I colored. When I cut it out from the colored strip, I paced it so the colored portion was at the bottom and the top was basically white. Tombow glue was used to layer all 5 cut outs on top of each other to form a thick word. Whisper White stitched satin ribbon was wrapped around the top of the card and attached to the back. I tied a bow using the same ribbon and used glue dots to attach to the card. This panel was added to a Pink Pirouette card base using dimensionals. The thick sentiment was added to the lower portion of the card so that the upper white part was on the pink colored layer and the pink section of the thick sentiment was on the white portion of the layer. Tombow glue was used to add the sentiment. Here is my completed card.
